Wednesday, March 10, 2027 - Depart Central Pennsylvania for Lake Placid, New York

Depart by motorcoach and travel north to Lake Placid, two-time host of the Winter Olympic Games! Appropriate comfort and a fast-food lunch stop will be made along the way.

Upon arrival, check into the beautiful High Peaks ResortLocated in the heart of downtown Lake Placid and just steps away from Mirror Lake you can experience Lake Placid and all it has to offer. After settling into the hotel, head to Smoke Signals, a local restaurant right on Main Street for a group dinner. Hotel: High Peaks Resort, Lake Placid (Dinner) 

Thursday, March 11, 2027 - Lake Placid Olympic Center and Ski Jumping Complex

After a private group breakfast at the hotel, we’ll head to the Lake Placid Olympic Center to learn what it was like to be an Olympian. First, enjoy a self-guided tour of the Olympic Museum, followed by a one-hour private Olympic Center Legacy Tour. The guided tour, led by local historians, will take you to the iconic venues where Olympic dreams were made including the 1980 Miracle on Ice Hockey game. Next, we’ll head to the Olympic Ski Jumping Complex for a private catered lunch.

Following lunch, we’ll be treated to a private tour of the Olympic Jumping Complex and a ride on the Skyride Experience. The Skyride Experience* (Gondola ride) offers a unique way to see the area with stunning views of Lake Placid. Once you reach the top of the ski jump area, there is an observation deck that offers breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Placid and the Adirondack Mountains. After the tour we’ll head back to the hotel. The rest of the evening is yours to spend at leisure to explore Main Street, Lake and to take in one of the local restaurants for dinner. (Breakfast, Lunch) 

*After exiting the gondola, there is a short walk required before reaching the elevators that will take you to the top of the HS128-meter ski jump.  

Friday, March 12, 2027 - Lake Placid - Mt. Van Hoevenberg - Central PA

After another private breakfast at the hotel, check out the hotel and head to Mt. Van Hoevenberg. Home to cross-country skiing, biathlon, bobsled, skeleton, and luge, this area is sure to amaze you. During our one-hour private legacy tour we’ll view the venue including the biathlon field and indoor push track. They will also take us outside to view the full bobsled track. After the tour bagged lunches will be handed out to enjoy in the cafe. After lunch, board the motorcoach to travel back to Central PA, taking home wonderful memories of your Winter Olympic experience in Lake Placid (appropriate comfort stops and a fast-food dinner stop will be made on the way home to Central PA). (Breakfast, Bagged Lunch)

Activity Level:

Moderate: Good mobility is required for this trip. Climbing stairs and standing for 2-3 hours at a time, as well as walking on uneven terrain may be necessary. Portions of the itinerary may include higher altitudes. The itinerary may involve longer days up to 12-14 hours in length. This activity level is not recommended for travelers with significant mobility concerns.

Travel Assistance:

For person comfort, group participants who need assistance are required to have a traveling companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing the needed assistance.

What will the weather be like?

Temperatures for Lake Placid in March average in the low teens to upper 30s. Casual clothes that are good for layering and comfortable walking shoes are recommended; be prepared for potential snow, icy walkways, or inclement weather.

How many bags may I bring?

One suitcase per person will be allowed. You may also bring a small carry-on bag.
