Friday August 27: Travel to Boston
7:00AM: Motorcoach will depart from Lancaster, AC Moore store located in Lancaster Shopping Center on the Oregon Pike/ Route 272 side of the store.
8:00AM: Depart from Harrisburg, AAA Central Penn, 2301 Paxton Church Rd.; travel to Massachusetts with appropriate rest and meal stops en route.
Check into the hotel with time to relax and freshen up before a delicious dinner at a local restaurant. Hotel: Hilton Hotel, Dedham, MA. (Dinner)
Saturday, August 28: Boston’s Freedom Trail & Boston Harbor Cruise
After breakfast we’ll spend the day exploring Boston, the birthplace of American Freedom. Tour along Boston’s famous Freedom Trail where you’ll see many historic sites while hearing tales of the brave Bostonians and Colonialists who dared to challenge Britain and helped establish the greatest republic in the world. During the tour visit the USS Constitution and the Old North Church. This afternoon you’ll have independent time for lunch on our own at Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Sunday, August 29: Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard Island
After breakfast depart for the sandy shores of Cape Cod where we’ll board the ferry and cruise to the beautiful island of Martha’s Vineyard. Once an early refuge for coastal ship traffic, it blossomed into a whaling community in the 18th and 19th century and evolved to what is now a popular tourist destination. Explore the diversity of its island towns, take a walk along the pristine shores, and step back in time to a more leisurely pace. Enjoy a guided tour of Oak Bluffs which is noted for its collection of small Carpenter Gothic cottages clustered in the Methodist Camp Meeting Grounds, and Edgartown, known for is stately Greek revival homes built by sea captains of years ago. Return to the mainland and check into the hotel with time to freshen up before dinner. Hotel: Red Jacket Beach Resort, South Yarmouth, MA. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Monday, August 30: Chatham, & Provincetown Whale Watch Cruise and Dune Tour
After breakfast, we’ll depart for a fun-filled day touring the lower and outer Cape! Begin touring through the charming seaside village of Chatham with a picture stop at the Chatham Light. Continue to Provincetown, the tip of the Cape, and spend some time browsing around the downtown waterfront area with all its artistic and eclectic shops before embarking on an exciting whale watch cruise! Be sure to have your cameras ready as we view these magnificent mammals frolic and feed in their ocean playground. Following the cruise, we’ll depart on a dune tour for a ride in Suburban’s through the dues of the Cape enjoying beautiful natural scenery and coastline. Tonight, we’ll feast on a traditional Cape Cod lobster dinner at one of the Cape’s popular seafood restaurants. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Tuesday, August 31: Nantucket Island
After breakfast we’ll board the ferry to the enchanting Island of Nantucket, fondly known as “The Gray Lady”. Once the whaling capitol of the world in the 1800’s, it has since evolved into a popular ‘hide away’ vacationing spot for the wealthy. Enjoy Nantucket’s charm with its cobblestone main street, narrow roads, simple Quaker-style homes and handsome houses dating back to the whaling days of the early 19th century. Enjoy a guided tour of this beautiful island with views of its sandy beaches, historic lighthouses, charming villages, and coastal beauty. You’ll have free time for lunch on your own this afternoon and time to venture through the many charming shops and galleries before returning by ferry back to the mainland. (Breakfast)
Wednesday, September 1: Newport Tour, Breakers Mansion & Schooner Cruise
After breakfast, depart for Newport, Rhode Island, America’s first resort and yachting capital of the world. Begin with a tour along the magnificent Ten Mile Drive where we’ll step back in time to the opulent era of the Gilded age where elite families such as the Vanderbilt’s and Astor’s built their “summer cottages” to retreat from the city life. After the tour, enjoy time along the waterfront for shopping and lunch on your own. This afternoon we’ll tour The Breakers, the grand dame of all the mansions. This 70 room Italian style Renaissance-style villa was built by Cornelius Vanderbilt II. Then we’ll board one of Newport’s classic schooners for a cruise around Narragansett Bay. Following the cruise check into the hotel with time to freshen up before dinner. Hotel: Newport Harbor Hotel, Newport, RI. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Thursday, September 2: Block Island
After breakfast, we’ll board the ferry for a ride to the famous Block Island. This island is 12 miles off the coast of Newport and has been herald as ‘one of the twelve best unspoiled areas in the Western Hemisphere” and is known for its relaxed way of life. Enjoy a guided tour with spectacular views of the rolling dunes, dazzling beaches, and Victorian village. Step back in time to a bygone era and enjoy lunch at one of the Islands grand hotels. Return to our hotel with the remainder of the day and evening on your own to explore the town and have dinner. (Breakfast, Lunch)
Friday, September 3: Depart for home
After breakfast enjoy some free time in Newport before departing for Central Pennsylvania with appropriate rest and meal stops en route. (Breakfast)
$300 per person deposit due at the time of booking to confirm your reservation. Final payment is due to AAA by July 1, 2021.
Solo Travelers Rewards Club maximum voucher redemption: $100
A $25 per person cancellation fee will be charged by Discoveries in addition to any other supplier’s fees. From July 1, 2021 to day of departure no refunds.

Temperatures for New England in August & September average in the high 70s. Casual clothes and comfortable walking shoes are recommended; be prepared for potential inclement weather.
