Friday, August 19: Travel to Finger Lakes, Wineries, New York Kitchen
5:00AM - Motorcoach will depart Lancaster, from the former AC Moore store located 1515 Lititz Pike at the Lancaster Shopping Center on the Oregon Pike/Route 272 side of the store.
6:00AM - Motorcoach will depart Harrisburg, AAA Central Penn office, 2301 Paxton Church Road, upper lot behind the building; travel to the Finger Lakes region with a rest stop en route.
**Departure times are approximate and will be confirmed closer to travel.
Our first stop will include a tour and tasting at Pleasant Valley Wine Company, popularly known as the Great Western Winery and is one of the oldest wineries in the Finger Lakes region. Established in 1860, the winery proudly displays the designation of U.S. Bonded Winery No. 1 and has eight remarkable stone buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This afternoon enjoy lunch on your own in the quaint town of Hammondsport. Following free time to explore we will have a wine tasting at Bully Hill Vineyard, and then will check into the hotel with time to freshen up before dinner. Tonight, we'll enjoy a flight of wine, dinner, and a chef demonstrated dessert at the New York Kitchen. Hotel: Hampton Inn, Geneva, NY. (Dinner)
Saturday, August 20: Sonnenberg Gardens, Canandaigua Lady Lunch Cruise, Wineries
After breakfast, we begin our day with a guided tour of Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion State Historic Park. Next, we board the Canandaigua Lady, a 19th century steamboat replica and an authentic double-decker paddle wheeler where we will enjoy lunch and relax on a narrated cruise on the Canandaigua Lake. Following the cruise we will travel down to Seneca Lake for some wine and mead tastings. Our stops will include; Torrey Ridge Winery, Earle Estates Meadery and Magnus Ridge Winery. (Breakfast, Lunch)
Sunday, August 21: Muranda Cheese Company, Knapp Winery, Depart for Pennsylvania
After breakfast depart for The Muranda Cheese Company for a delightful cheese sampling, followed by a wine tasting and luncheon at Knapp Winery. This afternoon arrive at the Taughannock Falls overlook. This 215 ft. high waterfall has the highest vertical drop of a waterfall east of the Mississippi and is 33 feet higher than Niagara Falls. Depart for Central Pennsylvania with a rest stop en-route. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Tour Activity Level: 3
This tour includes moderate physical activity. The itinerary blends some longer days with shorter days and more leisure time. Walking tours, as well as walking slightly longer distances, up stairs, or on uneven walking surfaces, should be expected.
A state issued photo I.D. is required (such as a valid driver’s license). Must be 21 years old for wine tastings.
As travel policies are rapidly changing due to COVID-19, final requirements will be communicated prior to departure. Vaccination from COVID-19 may be required at some locations.
$300 per person deposit is due at the time of booking to confirm your reservation. Final payment is due to AAA by July 1, 2022.
Solo Travelers Rewards Club maximum voucher redemption: $50
A $25 per person cancellation fee will be charged by Discoveries in addition to any other supplier’s fees. From July 1, 2022 to day of departure no refunds.
For your protection AAA recommends travel insurance. Pre-existing medical conditions may be waived with proper coverage if travel insurance is purchased within 14 days of initial deposit only. Other conditions may apply; ask your travel agent. AAA recommends Allianz.
Temperatures for Finger Lakes region in August average in the 80s. Casual clothes and comfortable walking shoes are recommended; be prepared for potential inclement weather.
For personal comfort, group participants who need assistance are required to have a traveling companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing the needed assistance.
