Tuesday, November 1: Travel to Hudson Valley, West Point Tour
6:30AM - Motorcoach will depart Lancaster, from the former AC Moore store located 1515 Lititz Pike at the Lancaster Shopping Center on the Oregon Pike/Route 272 side of the store.
7:30AM - Motorcoach will depart Harrisburg, AAA Central Penn office, 2301 Paxton Church Road, upper lot behind the building; travel to Poughkeepsie, NY with appropriate rest and meal stops en route.
**Departure times are approximate and will be confirmed closer to travel.
This afternoon arrive the Hudson River Valley for a delightful lunch at the historic Thayer Hotel, which is located on the grounds of West Point. Following lunch, tour the United States Military Academy, the oldest Military school and the nation's oldest continuously occupied military post. A stop will be made at Trophy Point and the Cadet Chapel. Next, we'll check into the hotel with time to freshen up before a delightful dinner. Hotel: Hyatt Place, Poughkeepsie, NY. (Dinner)
Wednesday, November 2: Vanderbilt Estate, Historic Rhinebeck & Chocolate & Wine Pairing
After breakfast depart with our local guide to explore the many treasures this area has to offer. Visit the Vanderbilt Mansion, one of the regions oldest Hudson River Estates and a superb example of wealth during the Gilded Age. Then enjoy some free time in the charming village of Rhinebeck for shopping and lunch on your own. This afternoon enjoy a special and lively chocolate and wine paring with the award-winning Chocolatier, Oliver Kita. Tonight, dinner will be at a local restaurant. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Thursday, November 3: FDR Presidential Library, Kingston Tour & Hudson River Cruise
After breakfast, depart for another day of exploring the Hudson River Valley. Enjoy a private VIP tour of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library & Museum! Continue to Kingston for a guided tour and free time for lunch on your own, before embarking on a two hour scenic afternoon cruise on the Hudson River. Enjoy views of the Hudson River Lighthouse, waterfront mansions and other remarkable sites. Tonight, return to the hotel to freshen up before a delightful dinner. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Friday, November 4: Walkway over Hudson, Culinary Institute of America, Brotherhood Winery
After breakfast, we'll stop at the Walkway over the Hudson. Enjoy a guided tour of this historic railroad bridge and the world's longest pedestrian walkway featuring stories about the past, present and future of the walkway. This afternoon we'll arrive at the Culinary Institute of America for a special luncheon, created and served by the students. Depart for Central Pennsylvania with a stop at Brotherhood Winery, the oldest winery in the country for a tasting. (Breakfast, Lunch)

This tour requires average physical activity. You should be in good health, able to climb stairs and walk reasonable distance, possibly over uneven grounds and cobblestone streets.

A state issued photo I.D. is required (such as a valid driver’s license). Must be 21 years old for wine tasting.
As travel policies are rapidly changing due to COVID-19, final requirements will be communicated prior to departure.
$300 per person deposit is due at the time of booking to confirm your reservation. Final payment is due to AAA by September 10, 2022.
Solo Travelers Rewards Club maximum voucher redemption: $50
A $25 per person cancellation fee will be charged by Discoveries in addition to any other supplier’s fees. From September 10, 2022 to day of departure no refunds.
For your protection AAA recommends travel insurance. Pre-existing medical conditions may be waived with proper coverage if travel insurance is purchased within 14 days of initial deposit only. Other conditions may apply; ask your travel agent. AAA recommends Allianz.
Temperatures for the Hudson River Valley, NY in November average in the 40s. Casual clothes and comfortable walking shoes are recommended; be prepared for potential inclement weather.
For personal comfort, group participants who need assistance are required to have a traveling companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing the needed assistance.
