Welcome to Iceland! Your tour opens in Reykjavik, Iceland's capital city. Get acquainted with old town Reykjavik on a walking tour featuring the harbor, city hall, the Parliament building, and the nearby cathedral, dating back to 1796. Gather with your fellow travelers at a popular restaurant for dinner featuring Icelandic cuisine. This evening, take an exhilarating northern lights cruise and sail into the darkness of Faxafloi Bay Bay in search of the aurora borealis*. Hotel: Centerhotel Plaza, Reykjavik (Dinner)

Monday, February 6, 2023: Golden Circle-Lava Exhibition Center-Vik
Travel the Golden Circle to experience renowned natural wonders, including the explosive Geysir thermal area, the double-cascade Gullfoss Waterfall, the famous Thingvellir National Park, where you'll stand upon the crest of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. Stop at the Lava Exhibition Center and delve into Iceland's past and present volcanic eruptions. Continue to Vik. Drive out into the stillness of rural Iceland in search of the northern lights or venture out on foot. Enjoy three nights of searching to increase your likelihood of spotting the lights. Tuesday, February 7, 2023: Seljalandsfoss and Skogar Museum
Journey to Seljalandsfoss, one of Iceland's most famous and unique waterfalls. Visit the Skogar Museum and discover its turf-built homes and artifacts. Stand in awe before the impressive Skogafoss Waterfall, one of Iceland's tallest. Your journey continues to Reynisfjara, a volcanic sand beach surrounded by basalt formations and rich bird life. Look out over the natural rock formations at Dyrholaey, a volcanic peninsula towering over the ocean. Get a sense of the local culture as you challenge your taste buds and sample traditional delicacies- hakarl (cured shark) and brennivin (schnapps). Wednesday, February 8, 2023: Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon and Skaftafell National Park
Travel to Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon, filled with floating icebergs. Explore this extraordinary landscape and search for seals swimming in cold waters. Travel to Skaftafell National Park, gateway to Vatnajokull Glacier. Vatnajokull is known for having Iceland's highest mountains and Europe's largest ice cap. After dinner, continue searching for the northern lights dancing across the night sky. Hotel: Hotel Katla by Kea, Vik (Breakfast Dinner)
Thursday, February 9, 2023: Blue Lagoon
Drive along the south shore towards the Reykjanes Peninsula. Known for its rugged landscape, lava fields, and numerous hot springs, the peninsula is home to the Blue Lagoon. Take a dip in the warm, mineral-rich waters of the geothermal pool, located in the heart of a dramatic lava field. Return to Reykjavik for your farewell dinner and overnight stay. Friday, February 10, 2023: End of Tour- Return to Central PA
Transfer to the airport for your flight and transportation back to Central PA (Breakfast)

**The northern lights are in the Northern Hemisphere from September through April and are only visible when the sky is clear and free of clouds. As this tour is weather dependent, sightings of the northern lights are not guaranteed.
Tour Activity Level 3:
This tour includes moderate physical activity. The itinerary blends some longer days with shorter days and more leisure time. Walking tours, as well as walking slightly longer distances, up stairs, or on uneven walking surfaces, should be expected.
Original, signed Passport valid for 6 months beyond stay, and with at least one blank Visa page for Visa Stamp(s) is required for this trip. As of the printing of this brochure all guests are required to obtain an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) travel authorization for travel to Europe's Schengen zone (not included in the price of the trip). Please see your travel advisor for additional information.
Effective immediately and until further notice, all guests traveling with AAA Member Choice Vacations will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with the final dose having been administered at least 14-days prior to the start of the tour in order to travel. Currently, all travelers returning to the U.S. from abroad are required to show a negative COVID-19 test result taken within one day of the flight's departure to the United States before boarding. This test is at the traveler's expense and is not covered in the cost of the tour. Additional testing and travel requirements may be required. All travel regulations are subject to change at any time and final requirements will be confirmed prior to departure.
A deposit of $600 per person will confirm your reservation. Final payment is due to AAA by November 22, 2022.

Air arrangements are handled by the tour operator. Seat assignments cannot be confirmed until the tour operator releases names to the airlines(s) 30 days prior to departure. Specific seat requests cannot be guaranteed. Some flights may contain code share agreements.
For your protection, AAA recommends travel insurance. Pre-existing medical conditions may be waived with proper coverage if travel insurance is purchased within 14 days of initial deposit only. Other conditions may apply; ask your travel agent. AAA recommends Allianz.
Temperatures for this region in February average in the 30s with even colder evenings. Pack for a variety of temperatures. Casual clothes that can be layered work best. Comfortable walking boots, winter coats, hats, gloves, scarves, etc are recommended.
One suitcase per person will be allowed. You may also bring a carry-on bag small enough to fit under your seat. Baggage fees are not included in the price of the trip. Baggage fees and other charges may be directly assessed by airlines or airport.
For personal comfort, group participants who need assistance are required to have a traveling companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing needed assistance.
