Saturday, March 25: Arrive in Dallas, TX
Motorcoach from Central PA to a local airport for a flight to Dallas, TX.* (*if group air is available from Harrisburg International Airport, you will meet the group at the airport).
Welcome to Dallas, Texas! The Lone Star State's third-largest city is a sprawling metroplex, boasting rich history, signature snacks, and internationally recognized architecture. Your Travel Director will greet the group at the airport, and you'll be off for a city tour. Afterwards, you'll head to the hotel for check-in, before joining the group for a Welcome Dinner to start your Texas and Beyond adventure. Sunday, March 26: Dallas Sightseeing
After breakfast, join the group on an educational adventure, where you'll learn all about the life and career of George W. Bush at the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum. Next, head over to the Sixth Floor Museum where you dive into the chronicles of John F. Kennedy and the Memory of a Nation. After learning about our past Presidents, we switch gears and head over to Billy Bob's, the "World's Largest Honky Tonk," venue which is a Texas tradition! The building, built in 1910, was once an open-air barn used to house prize cattle for the Fort Worth Stock Show. Enjoy Lunch and free time before heading back to Dallas. (Breakfast, Lunch)
Monday, March 27: Waco to Austin
Today we travel to Waco to visit the famous Magnolia Market, with its landmark silos that occupy two city blocks in the downtown area and is owned by HGTV "Fixer Upper" stars, Chip and Joanna Gaines. Here you'll have time for touring, shopping, and lunch on your own before departing for Austin, a city known for its eclectic live-music scene centered around country, blues and rock. The first thing on the agenda is an Austin city tour. This evening, join your fellow travelers and Travel Director for dinner with live entertainment (pending availability). Tuesday, March 28: Austin to San Antonio
After a leisurely morning start, depart the hotel and head to San Antonio. You'll get a sense of what this area is known for with your City Highlights tour this afternoon. This evening, relax on a sightseeing cruise along the San Antonio River. The River Walk, or Paseo del Rio, is a San Antonio treasure and the largest urban ecosystem in the nation. Dinner is on your own tonight, to try one of the popular eateries offered by this diverse and vibrant city. Hotel: Embassy Suites by Hilton San Antonio Riverwalk Downtown, San Antonio, TX (Breakfast)
Wednesday, March 29: San Antonio to Houston
Today we leave San Antonio behind and make our way to the world capital of space exploration, Houston Texas! A visit to Texas wouldn't be complete without a fun stop at Bucc-ee's, the mega sized convenience store that epitomizes the Long Star State, for a comfort stop and lunch on your own along the way. Once we arrive in Houston, enjoy a City Highlights tour. The evening is yours to explore any way you would like! Hotel: Sheraton Suites Houston Near the Galleria, Houston, TX (Breakfast)
Thursday, March 30: Lafayette to New Orleans
We depart Houston this morning and head to the heart of Louisiana's Cajun & Creole Country, Lafayette. We'll visit the Acadian Cultural Center, where we will be told stories of the origins, migration settlement and contemporary culture of the Acadians (Cajuns) and other area groups. After lunch on our own, we head to New Orleans, where dinner will be on your own tonight to enjoy a local restaurant. Hotel: Sheraton New Orleans, New Orleans, LA (Breakfast)
Friday, March 31: New Orleans at Leisure
Today, enjoy the entire day at leisure to explore New Orleans any way you choose! Perhaps join a cooking class, tour the National WWII Museum, take a swamp tour or head to a local plantation. Your Travel Director will be available to help suggest and facilitate activities. (Breakfast)
Saturday, April 1: New Orleans to Natchez, MS
Today we head to Natchez, Mississippi for a day trip. Natchez, is known for its antebellum mansions, like the unfinished octagonal Longwood, and the Melrose Estate, which is part of the Natchez National Historical Park. In the afternoon, it's off for a tour of the Frogmore Plantation, an 1800-acre working cotton plantation with 19 restored antebellum structures that date from the early 1800's. The group will have lunch at a local restaurant in Natchez, before heading back to New Orleans for an evening at Leisure. (Breakfast, Lunch)
Sunday, April 2: New Orleans City Sights
Delve deep into the heart of New Orleans on a sightseeing tour with a Local Specialist. Discover the main landmarks, fascinating history, and hidden treasures of this remarkably diverse city; from the treelined streets and plantation-style mansions of the Garden District, to the musical Treme neighborhood and well preserved French Quarter. This evening, we bid farewell to the Big Easy with a Farewell Dinner during a Steamboat Jazz Cruise (Breakfast, Farewell Dinner Cruise)
Monday, April 3: Depart for Home
After breakfast, bid a fond farewell to your Texas and Beyond adventure. Board your private coach to the New Orleans International Airport for your flight and transportation back to Central PA.

This tour requires average physical activity. You should be in good health, able to climb stairs and walk reasonable distances, possibly over uneven ground and cobblestoned streets.

As of the writing of this brochure, all travelers are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with the final dose having been administered at least 14 days prior to departure to travel with Trafalgar Tours. Air arrangements are handled by the tour operator. Seat assignments cannot be confirmed until the tour operator releases names to the airlines(s) 30 days prior to departure. Specific seat requests cannot be guaranteed. Some flights may contain share agreements.
For your protection AAA recommends travel insurance. Pre-existing medical conditions may be waived with proper coverage if travel insurance is purchased within 14 days of initial deposit only. Other conditions may apply; ask your travel agent. AAA recommends Allianz.
Temperatures for this tour in late March, early April, average in the low 70s with cooler evenings. Pack for a variety of temperatures. Casual clothes that can be layered work best. Comfortable walking shoes and a small umbrella are recommended.
One suitcase per person will be allowed. You may also bring a carry-on bag small enough to fit under your seat. Baggage fees are not included in the price of the trip. Baggage fees and other charges may be directly assessed by airlines or airport.
For personal comfort, group participants who need assistance are required to have a traveling companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing the needed assistance.
