Sunday, November 1, 2026 - Welcome to Helsinki!

Helsinki kick-starts your hunt for the mystical Northern Lights. On arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. There’s time to freshen up before joining your Local Specialist for a city sightseeing tour and Welcome Reception. Hotel: Clarion Hotel Mestari (Dinner)

Monday, November 2, 2026 - Journey to Saariselkä

Today our flight takes us north from Helsinki, across the Arctic Circle to Ivalo. Later, a short drive brings us to the enchanting snowy escape of Saariselkä, our home for the next two nights. Hotel: Santa’s Hotel Tunturi Saariselkä (Breakfast, Dinner)

Tuesday, November 3, 2026 - Discover the Arctic

Enjoy a relaxing day in the picturesque Arctic village of Saariselkä. For those looking for adventure, consider joining an Optional Experience to go snowshoeing along the scenic Aurora Path, and later opt in to feel the thrill of a snowmobiling excursion across the frozen Ivalo River. Wednesday, November 4, 2026 - Santa Claus Village and Rovaniemi

Visit Rovaniemi, the official hometown of Santa Claus. Celebrate the magic of Christmas when you experience and share yuletide greetings with Santa at his post office. Thursday, November 5, 2026 - Venture to Luleå in Swedish Lapland

Bid farewell to Finland, bound for Sweden. Your first stop is the historic church village of Gammelstad, a UNESCO World Heritage site, renowned for its 424 wooden houses surrounding an early 15th-century stone church. Explore the village with a Local Specialist who will bring its fascinating history to life. Afterward, continue on to Luleå, the largest city in Swedish Lapland. Hotel: Scandic Luleå (Breakfast)

This morning we venture north to Jokkmokk, an historic meeting place for the indigenous Sámi people for trade and festivals alike. Enjoy a guided tour through the fascinating Ájtte museum and delve into the centuries-old traditions and heritage of the Sámi people on Trafalgar’s MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience. Immerse yourself in the Sámi culture shaped by Northern Lapland’s unique natural environment. See how this community has survived and indeed thrived in the Arctic’s extremes. Today is yours to explore Kiruna! You might choose to explore at your own pace, or perhaps join one of our enriching Optional Experiences. Take a husky safari through the snow or weather pending, visit a working sled dog kennel to learn about life with these remarkable animals. Explore the Icehotel, built entirely from natural ice and snow, or join a local guide to learn more about Kiruna’s ambitious move. Sunday, November 8, 2026 - Enjoy Stunning Stockholm

This morning leave the Arctic behind to fly to Stockholm. Monday, November 9, 2026 - Farewell Stockholm

As our journey in the snowy Arctic lands of reindeer and Father Christmas comes to an end, the memories of ancient Sámi culture and Nordic traditions in our hearts,we bid a fond farewell to newfound friends. Depart for a flight back to Central, PA. (Breakfast)

All non-members must add $60 to the above rates. Rates are subject to availability at time of booking and include taxes, fees and fuel surcharges which are subject to change.  All pricing and included features are based on a minimum of 20 full-fare passengers. Single occupancy accommodations are extremely limited and are not guaranteed until space is confirmed.  Book by June 1, 2026 to secure your space. Reservations made after this date are subject to availability and rates are subject to potential increases. Desired pickup location is not guaranteed until passenger minimums are met.

A deposit of $350 per person will confirm your reservation.  Final payment is due to AAA by June 19, 2026

Cancellation Penalties:

From June 1, 2026 – June 18, 2026 – Cancellation Penalty of $350 per person
June 19, 2026 – 100% Non-Refundable

Flight:

Air arrangements are handled by the tour operator.  Seat assignments cannot be confirmed until the tour operator releases names to the airline(s) 30 days prior to departure.  Specific seat requests cannot be guaranteed.  Some flights may contain code share agreements.

Clothing/Climate:

Temperatures for the Scandinavian Countries in November average in the mid 40’s during the day with cooler evenings in the mid to low 20’s.  Pack for a variety of temperatures.  Casual clothes that can be layered work best.  It is recommended that you wear comfortable walking shoes.

Activity Level:

Active- This is a fast-paced trip with longer days and shorter periods of time to rest. Longer walking tours up to 3-5 hours in length and over 10,000 steps along varied types of terrain are typical. High altitude destinations and moderate temperatures may be featured. This trip can include frequent physically challenging activities. This activity level is not recommended for travelers with serious medical conditions.

Travel Assistance

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a passport? What about travel visas?

Yes, an original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay, and with at least one blank visa page for visa stamp(s). At the time of the printing of this brochure all guests are required to obtain an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) Travel authorization for travel to Europe’s Schengen Zone (not included in the price of the trip). UK ETA ( UK Electronic Travel Authorization) is recommended in count of a UK layover.  Please see your AAA Travel Advisor for more information.

When Should I Book Excursions?

Your AAA Travel Advisor is happy to help reserve your choice of optional excursions. It’s best to book them as soon as possible as they can sell out.

How Many Bags am I Allowed to Bring?

One suitcase per person will be allowed by the tour company. You may also bring a small carry-on and personal item.

Do I Need Travel Insurance?

For your protection AAA highly recommends travel insurance. Pre-existing medical conditions may be waived with proper coverage only if travel insurance is purchased within 14 days of initial deposit. Other conditions may apply; ask your Travel Advisor. AAA recommends Allianz Insurance.
