Arrive at 8:00 am – Departing at 5:00 pm

Caribbean charm shines in the Bahamian capital, where you’re never more than a few steps away from rhythmic percussions, appetizing flavors, white sand beaches, and some of the clearest waters in the world. Cruise to Nassau and swim with stingrays, dive with dolphins, or spot colorful coral on a glass bottom boat. If you’re looking for a more hands-on maritime adventure, look no further.

Fun Things To Do:

  • A short 30-minute boat ride off the coast is Pearl Island, one of the unique private islands of the Bahamas. Spend the day on water trampolines, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards. Or relax in front of the iconic lighthouse while enjoying a frozen drink and freshly made conch salad.
  • Junkanoo Beach is a free, public stretch of sand with affordable lounge chairs and umbrella rentals and tasty Bahama Mamas. It’s an easy 15-minute walk from the harbor, and offers a taste of the island’s famous blue waters and soft sand with a hint of local flavor.
  • Festival Place, which sits right on the wharf, has more than 40 local vendors selling artisanal items. This waterfront promenade is a bargain hunter’s paradise, and the nearby Straw Market is the go-to spot for authentic Bahamian hand-made treasures.

June 22, 2027: Perfect Day Cococay, Bahamas

You will visit Royal Caribbean’s private island in the Bahamas. Whether your ideal beach getaway involves larger-than-life thrills or unwinding at a peaceful waterfront chill spot, you’ll find there’s no right or wrong way to make the most out of your adventure.

Fun Things To Do:

  • Thrill waterpark is a drench a minute thrill-a-ton for every adventurer. From giggle-worthy tides to shreik-inducing slides towering high into the clouds. Whatever your thrill threshold, you’ll find firsts to test your bravery here.
  • Oasis lagoon is the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean. Make your way through the different coves each with a vibe all on it’s own. Splash right in at the kid-friendly sloping entrance, or treat yourself to total relaxation in the privacy of your own cabana, complete with attendant service.
  • Take your adventure to the skies aboard a helium balloon and see the islands like never before from the highest vantage point in the Bahamas- Up, up and away. Feel your heart race while soaring up to 450 feet above land and sea, then let the wonder wash over you as you coast on the breeze.

June 24, 2027: Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

Arrive at 7:00 am – Departing at 3:00 pm

Puerto Plata is the Dominican Republic’s oldest city in the north and a tourism pioneer. Nestled by the ocean with a mountainous backdrop, the city offers a lively pier, which is known as the Malecon, colorful shops, and opulent homes from the 1800s. The city is famous for Parque Independencia (also known as Parque Central), a park fringed by royal palms and Victorian architecture.

FUN THINGS TO DO:

  • Hop on a cable car for sky-high views, take a tour of the local cacao farms, and buy some of the clearest amber in the world, you can set those amber stones in any type of jewelry, taking a piece of Puerto Plata with you.
  • One of the most popular beaches in Puerto Plata, Sosua is a stretch of fluffy sand with gorgeous transparent waters ideal for swimming and snorkeling.
  • There are also several busy restaurants to enjoy the local cuisine if you’re looking for fruits of the sea, try a saucy Pescado con coco (fish in coconut sauce) and bars nearby after your time on the beach.

June 27, 2027: Disembarkation

Transfer by motorcoach from Cape Liberty, NJ cruise port back to Central PA.

2D – Ocean View Balcony: Double Rate per person $3,149; Single Rate per person $5,339
2J – Central Park View Balcony: Double Rate per person $2,789; Single Rate per person $4,609
4V – Interior: Double Rate per person $2,279; Single Rate per person $3,589

All non-members must add $60 to the above rate.

The rates listed above include the following which are subject to change: Required Cruise Fees, Expenses: $290 per person double occupancy ($580 single occupancy) Government Taxes- $177.89 per person.

Rates are subject to availability at time of booking and include taxes, fees and fuel surcharges which are subject to change. All pricing and included features are based on a minimum of 25 full-fare passengers.

Desired pick-up location is not guaranteed until passenger minimums are met.

Payment

Deposit of $250 per person/$500 per cabin will confirm your reservation. Final payment is due to AAA by  March 5, 2027.

Cancellation/Penalties

From March 21 – April 4, 2027   25% of gross fare per person, plus any additional suppliers’ fees
From April 5 – 18, 2027               50% of gross fare per person, plus any additional suppliers’ fees
From April 19 – May 18, 2027    75% of gross fare per person, plus any additional suppliers’ fees
After May 18, 2027                      NON-REFUNDABLE

When should I book shore excursions?

Your AAA Travel Advisor is happy to help reserve your choice of shore excursions. It’s best to book them as soon as possible as they can sell out.

What is a Discoveries Journey Manager?

A Discoveries Journey Manager travels with you on your entire journey. They are there to ensure your trip runs smoothly so you can sit back and relax. They are constantly working behind the scenes, whether it be at airport check-in or cruise disembarkation, they have you covered!

Do I need a passport?

U.S. citizens on homeport cruises (cruises that begin and end at the same U.S. port) are currently able to enter or depart the country with a state issued birth certificate with a raised seal and government-issued photo ID. While not required, AAA recommends traveling with an original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay, and with at least one blank visa page for visa stamp(s).

How many bags can I bring?

One suitcase per person will be allowed. You may also bring a small carry-on bag.

Do I need travel insurance?

For your protection AAA highly recommends travel insurance. Pre-existing medical conditions may be waived with proper coverage only if travel insurance is purchased within 14 days of initial deposit. Other conditions may apply; ask your Travel Advisor. AAA recommends Allianz Insurance.

What will the weather be like?

Temperatures for the Bahamas and Eastern Caribbean in June average in the mid to high 80s. Casual clothes and comfortable walking shoes are recommended; be prepared for potential inclement weather.
