April 24, 2027 - Depart Central PA for Bordeaux, France

Your journey begins with a motorcoach transfer from Central PA to a local international airport for an overnight flight* to Bordeaux-Mérignac International Airport.

*Air Schedule will be shared once available. Group air schedule is in economy class. Seat assignments are controlled by the airline. Specific seat requests cannot be guaranteed.  Air upgrades may be available and are by request only and are not guaranteed. 

 

April 25, 2027 - Arrival and Embarkation

Welcome to France as you arrive in Bordeaux and Embark on your European Journey.

April 26, 2027 - Cadillac

The French phrase “la douceur de vivre” is an accurate description for your time in Cadillac, known for its deliciously flavored dessert wines. Visit Château Royal de Cazeneuve, site of Henry IV’s and Queen Margot’s tempestuous love. Meet the owner around a glass of Sauternes in the reception hall.

*Note: Sailing this stretch of the Garonne depends on the tides. If it is not possible to sail to Cadillac, you will be transferred to your destination via motorcoach.

April 27, 2027 - Cussac Fort Medoc

In the evening, a special Captain’s Welcome Reception and Dinner will be prepared for you.

Sunday, May 2, 2027- Bordeaux - Disembark - Depart for Central PA.

Disembark the ship. You will be transferred to Bordeaux-Mérignac International Airport for your flight and transportation back to Central PA.

Deposit of $1,500 per person will confirm your reservation. Final payment is due to AAA by December 11, 2026

Airfare is non-refundable after final payment date.

Cancellation Penalties

From Day of Deposit – Dec 23, 2026  $250.00 per person

From December 26 – January 24, 2027    25% of gross fare per person, plus any additional suppliers’ fees
From January 25 – February 23, 2027      50% of gross fare per person, plus any additional suppliers’ fees

From February 24 – March 25, 2027        75% of gross fare per person, plus any additional suppliers’ fees

After March 25, 2027         NON-REFUNDABLE

Activity Level: 3

Moderate- Good mobility is required for this trip. Climbing stairs and standing for 2-3 hours at a time, as well as walking on uneven terrain may be necessary. Portions of the itinerary may include higher altitudes. The itinerary may involve longer days up to 12-14 hours in length. This activity level is not recommended for travelers with significant mobility concerns.

Travel Assistance

For personal comfort, group participants who need assistance are required to have a traveling companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing the needed assistance.

What Travel Documents Do I Need?

Passport Required: Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay, and with at least one blank Visa page for Visa stamp(s) is required for this trip.

UK ETA:  As of the publication of this brochure, all travelers visiting or transiting through the United Kingdom (including England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland) are required to obtain a UK ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization). This also applies to itineraries with layovers in the UK.  Please note that the UK ETA is not included in the cost of your trip, and it is the responsibility of each traveler to secure this authorization prior to departure. Please see your Travel Advisor for additional information.

ETIAS: As of the printing of this brochure all guests are required to obtain an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) travel authorization for travel to Europe’s Schengen zone (not included in the price of the trip). Do I need Travel Insurance?

For your protection AAA highly recommends travel insurance. Pre-existing medical conditions may be waived with proper coverage only if travel insurance is purchased within 14 days of initial deposit. Other conditions may apply; ask your Travel Advisor. AAA recommends Allianz Insurance.

What will the weather be like and how many bags can I bring?

Temperatures for Bordeaux in April average in the mid 60s  with cooler mornings and evenings in the 40s. Casual clothes that are good for layering and comfortable walking shoes are recommended; be prepared for potential inclement weather.

One suitcase per person will be allowed. You may also bring a small carry-on bag.
