Thursday, August 5, 2027 - Depart Central PA for a flight to Rome, Italy

Your journey begins with a motorcoach transfer from Central Penn to a local international airport for an overnight flight* to Rome, Italy.

*Group air schedule is in economy class. Seat assignments are controlled by the airline. Specific seat requests cannot be guaranteed. Air upgrades may be available and are by request only and are not guaranteed. Any air upgrades or deviations must be requested at the time of the initial deposit.

Friday, August 6, 2027 - Arrive in Rome – Welcome Dinner

Set off on a truly bellissimo adventure through Italy’s most stunning cities, beginning in Rome, the legendary Eternal City. Meet your Travel Director for a wonderful welcome dinner, then ease into la dolce vita with an orientation drive showcasing Rome’s most breathtaking landmarks. Hotel: Grand Palatino (Dinner)

Saturday, August 7, 2027 - Rome and Vatican City

Begin your day with a Local Specialist as you explore Vatican City. Discover the impressive treasures of the Vatican Museums and gaze up at Michelangelo’s legendary frescoes in the Sistine Chapel. Continue to St. Peter’s Basilica, where you’ll see his famous Pietà. Later, cross the Tiber River into Ancient Rome to visit the Colosseum.

Sunday, August 8, 2027 - Free day to explore Rome

Spend the day at leisure discovering Rome at your own pace, or choose an Optional Experience to explore the poignant ruins of Pompeii, accompanied by a Local Specialist, uncover the stories of its past before returning to Rome, traveling past the Abbey of Monte Cassino, a landmark marked by intense battles during World War II. Monday, August 9, 2027 - Travel from Rome to Florence

Travel north through the gentle landscapes of Umbria to Assisi, the birthplace of St. Francis. With a Local Specialist, discover the life and legacy of this beloved saint during a visit to the Basilica of St. Francis. Continue onward through the beautiful Tuscan countryside en route to Florence. This evening, savor dinner at a Be My Guest experience, surrounded by postcard worthy olive groves and vineyards. Tuesday, August 10, 2027 - Florence

Take a relaxed walking tour of Florence with a Local Specialist, immersing yourself in the city’s extraordinary art and architecture. Explore the magnificent Piazza della Signoria, renowned for its statues and historic palaces, then wander through quaint cobblestone streets to the vividly colored marble Duomo and Baptistery. Wednesday, August 11, 2027 - Florence to Pisa

Thursday, August 12, 2027 - Bologna and Venice

Non-Members add $60 to the above rates. Rates are subject to availability at the time of booking and include taxes, fees, and fuel surcharges, which are subject to change. All pricing and included features are based on a minimum of 30 full-fare passengers.

A deposit of $200 per person will confirm your reservation. Final payment is due to AAA by April 23, 2027.

Cancellation penalties:

From January 4 – April 23, 2027:           $200 per person, plus any additional suppliers’ fees.
From April 24 – July 6, 2027:                  50% paid per person, plus any additional suppliers’ fees.
From July 7 – August 3, 2027:                 80% paid per person, plus any additional suppliers’ fees.
After August 3, 2027:                                100% non refundable.

Airfare is non refundable after the final payment date of April 23, 2027.

Activity Level:

Moderate: Good mobility is required for this trip. Climbing stairs and standing for 2-3 hours at a time, as well as walking on uneven terrain may be necessary. Portions of the itinerary may include higher altitudes. The itinerary may involve longer days up to 12-14 hours in length. This activity level is not recommended for travelers with significant mobility concerns.

Travel Assistance:

For person comfort, group participants who need assistance are required to have a traveling companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing the needed assistance.

What Travel Documents Do I Need?

Passport: Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay, and with at least one blank Visa page for Visa stamp(s) is required for this trip.

ETIAS:  As of the printing of this brochure all guests are required to obtain an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) travel authorization for travel to Europe’s Schengen zone (not included in the price of the trip). Please see your Travel Advisor for additional information.

Do I need Travel Insurance?

For your protection, AAA recommends travel insurance. Pre-existing medical conditions may be waived with proper coverage if travel insurance is purchased within 14 days of initial deposit only. Other conditions may apply; ask your travel agent. AAA recommends Allianz.

What will the weather be like?

Temperatures for Italy in August average in the high 70s and 80s with cooler mornings and evenings. Casual clothes good for layering in order to be prepared for a variety of temperatures. Comfortable walking shoes are also recommended; be prepared for potential inclement weather.

How Many Bags May I Bring?

Due to limited space while touring, all passengers are limited to one checked bag no more than 50lbs. Soft sided carry-on bags no larger than 22in x 14in x 9in with a zippered enclosure are recommended. Wheeled carry-on cases that are used as carry-on luggage on airlines are too large and are not suitable as hand-carried luggage. You may also bring a personal carry-on item small enough to fit under your seat no larger than 18in x14in x 8in.  Baggage fees and other charges may be directly assessed by the airlines or airport.
