Volunteer at a Local Animal Shelter

Looking for a meaningful way to support animals in our community? Join us for a hands-on volunteer event at one of our local shelters. Whether you’re helping with enrichment activities, organizing donations, or lending a hand with daily care, your time makes a real difference for pets waiting for their forever homes.

Huntingdon County Humane Society • Thursday, May 21 • 9AM-2PM with lunch provided

Join the AAA Cares Team as we clean the kennel and care for fur-babies in need of a forever home.

Perry County Animal Rescue • Wednesday, May 27 • 8:30AM-12:30PM

Join the AAA Cares Team as we clean the kennel, care for fur-babies, and work on repair and paint projects that need completed.

Pet Pantry, Lancaster • Saturday, May 30 • 10AM-1PM

Join the AAA Cares team for Doggy Day Out! We will help take dogs out for an excursion to a nearby park, giving them exercise, enrichment, and a break from the shelter environment. This is also a great opportunity to help increase their visibility for potential adopters. The plan is to meet at the adoption center, get paired up with a dog, and head to a local park together (location to be finalized). Volunteers are asked to help transport the dogs back and forth from the park. Staff will be there to support and guide the group.

All volunteers are eligible to receive a free AAA Cares T‑shirt as our way of saying thank you for giving back!

Meet adorable, adoptable puppies from the Lancaster SPCA during a special in‑branch meet‑and‑greet. It’s the perfect midday pick‑me‑up and a great way to support a local rescue.

Saturday, May 30 • 10 AM–1 PM • Harrisburg Area Community College
AAA Central Penn is a proud new sponsor of the Harrisburg Humane Society’s Walk for Paws, a perfect companion to our Pet Month initiatives. Stop by the AAA tent for pet insurance resources and pet‑friendly travel tips while enjoying a full day of activities: a 5K Color Run, 1K Walk, puppy yoga, a pet costume contest, food trucks, vendors, adoptables, and more.
