Sunday, May 10, 2026: Depart for Zurich, Switzerland

Motorcoach from Central PA to a local international airport for an overnight flight to Zurich, Switzerland.

*Air Schedule will be shared once available. Group air schedule is in economy class. Seat assignments are controlled by the airline. Specific seat requests cannot be guaranteed.  Air upgrades may be available and are by request only and are not guaranteed. Monday, May 11, 2026: Zurich, Switzerland

Welcome to Zurich, Switzerland!  Once here you’ll have some free time to explore the city on your own by checking out some of its historic museums or Old Town Zurich.  In the evening meet your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner.  Hotel: Hotel Krone Unterstrass, Zurich (Dinner)

Tuesday, May 12, 2026: Zurich - Andermatt - Zermatt

After breakfast enjoy a walking tour of the city as a local guide gives you a historical accounting of the city.  Learn about the history of the chocolate shops and sample of the delectable treats before taking time for lunch on your own.  Then it’s all aboard the world famous Glacier Express train on your way to Andermatt and soak in the stunning beauty of the towering mountains and surrounding forests before continuing on to Zermatt, a carless village.  Hotel: Hotel Alex, Zermatt (Breakfast, Dinner)

Wednesday, May 13, 2026: Zermatt

Today you’ll explore this carless mountain village of Zermatt with a tour guided walking tour in the morning.  Afterwards the day is yours to explore on your own, taking in the stunning views of the Matterhorn and perhaps visiting the Matterhorn Museum.  Hotel: Hotel Alex, Zermatt (Breakfast)

Thursday, May 14, 2026: Zermatt - Lake Maggiore, Italy

We embark from Switzerland into Italy on a drive through the Simplon Pass of the Alps, taking the same path that Napoleon took when he conquered Milan and Venice.  On your way you’ll stop off at a local family-owned cow farm, and learn about the life on the farm and the family before enjoying some home-made products for lunch.  You’ll then continue on to Lake Maggiore and the town of Stresa, renowned for its blend of elegance that has inspired writers and artists for over a century.  Hotel: Zacchera Hotels, Lake Maggiore (Breakfast, Lunch)

Friday, May 15, 2026: Lake Maggiore

The day is yours to explore at your leisure!  Explore the town, soak up some sun along the lakeshore, or partake in an optional tour to Lake Orta, the picturesque lake surrounded by romantic villages.  In the evening you’ll board a private boat to Isola dei Pescatori, an island where you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner at a local restaurant. Saturday, May 16, 2026: Lake Maggiore

After breakfast explore the twin towns of Verbania and Pallanza, where it’s your choice!  In Verbania you can explore the enchanted gardens with flowers from all corners of the world -OR- visit Pallanza and tour the Troubetkoy statuary collection in the museum Museo del Paesaggio.  In the afternoon you’ll set sail to Isola Bella, otherwise known as the “beautiful island” and tour with a guide to the Borromeo Palace. Sunday, May 17, 2026: Lake Maggiore - St. Moritz, Switzerland

Today you’ll journey along the beautiful coastal lakeside of Lake Como on your way to Tirano where you’ll have some free time to explore the town on your own for lunch.  Afterwards you’ll take a journey through the Bernina Express on your way to St. Moritz, Switzerland, as you soak in the views of the majestic Swiss Alps.  The evening is yours to relax and explore St. Moritz in this charming town.  Hotel: Hotel Steffani, St. Moritz (Breakfast)

Monday, May 18, 2026: St. Moritz - Lucerne

After breakfast your journey will take you from St. Moritz to Lucerne, Switzerland, the famous city known as “Swiss Paradise on the Lake”.  Once there you’ll enjoy a guided walking tour through the Old Town known as Altstadt as you marvel at the 14th century covered Chapel Bridge and the famous Water Tower that once served as a prison.  The evening is yours to enjoy at your leisure and to explore the city as you like.  Hotel: Radisson Blu Hotel, Lucerne (Breakfast)

Tuesday, May 19, 2026: Lucerne

Today you’ll be able to bask in the sheer beauty of the natural landscape in Switzerland as you glide through the air on gondolas and cable cars as you ascend the mountains terrain at over 7000 feet above sea level.  At the summit you’ll be able to spend some leisure time as you take in breathtaking views, before heading back down the mountains along a gentle gondola ride.  This evening join your fellow travelers for a farewell dinner indulging in Swiss specialties.  (Breakfast, Dinner)

Wednesday, May 20, 2026: Lucerne - Tour Ends

Today marks the end of your spectacular journey.  Transfer to the airport for your flight and transportation back to Central PA. (Breakfast)

Double Rate Per Person: $7,209

Single Rate Per Person: $8,389

All non-members must add $60 to the above rates. Rates are subject to availability at time of booking and include taxes, fees and fuel surcharges which are subject to change.  All pricing and included features are based on a minimum of 20 full-fare passengers. Single occupancy accommodations are extremely limited and are not guaranteed until space is confirmed.  Book by November 11, 2025 to secure your space. Reservations made after this date are subject to availability and rates are subject to potential increases. Desired pickup location is not guaranteed until passenger minimums are met.

Payment Schedule:

Air arrangements are handled by the tour operator.  Seat assignments cannot be confirmed until the tour operator releases names to the airline(s) 30 days prior to departure.  Specific seat requests cannot be guaranteed.  Some flights may contain code share agreements.

Clothing/Climate:

Temperatures for the Swiss and Italian Alps in May average in the mid 60’s during the day with cooler evenings in the mid to low 40’s.  Pack for a variety of temperatures.  Casual clothes that can be layered work best.  It is recommended that you wear comfortable walking shoes.

Activity Level:

Comfortable: This trip may include walking tours of up to two hours in length typically on level terrains.  May include early morning departures or late-night returns.  Climbing multiple flights of stairs, standing for short periods of time, along with moderate altitudes may be necessary.

Travel Assistance

Do I need a passport?

Yes, an original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay, and with at least one blank Visa page for Visa stamp(s) is required for this trip.

How many bags can I bring?

One suitcase per person will be allowed. You May also bring a carry-on bag small enough to fit under the seat in front of you on the airplane. Baggage fees are not included in the price of the trip. Baggage fees and other charges will be directly assessed by the airlines or the airport.

Do I need travel insurance?

For your protection AAA highly recommends travel insurance. Pre-existing medical conditions may be waived with proper coverage only if travel insurance is purchased within 14 days of initial deposit. Other conditions may apply; ask your Travel Advisor. AAA recommends Allianz Insurance.

Where will my seat be on the plane?
