Join AAA Central Penn and the Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania to take in the history and sights at the Conrail Museum and East Broad Top Railroad!

Daily Itinerary

Friday, June 20, 2026

Depart Central, PA by motorcoach and travel to the Conrail Museum with a rest stop en-route.

**Early morning departure- exact timing will be confirmed closer to travel.

Arrive at the Conrail Museum. Members of the museum will be available to discuss the museum exhibit as well as answer questions. Learn about the 50th Anniversary of Conrail and view archives that are normally closed to the public. The PRR signal from Horseshoe Curve will be outside and available for viewing.

Enjoy lunch at Knute’s Tap Room. There will be a select menu to choose from including dessert and a non-alcoholic beverage.  After lunch, arrive at East Broad Top Railroad with time to look around the gift shop and a comfort break before boarding the train for an hour long ride. Following, take a ride on the Rockhill Trolley Museum Trolley (located across from East Broad Top Railroad).

End the day with a guided tour of the  Historic Belt Driven Machine Shop Complex at East Broad Top Railroad. Depart for home with a dinner stop along the way (dinner is not included in the price of the trip). (Lunch)

Based on the Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania membership status:

Current Member –  $250.00
Non Railroad Member  –   $275.00

All pricing and included features are based on a minimum of 30 passengers. Rates are subject to availability at time of booking and included taxes, fees, and fuel surcharges which are subject to change. Desired pick up location is not guaranteed until passenger minimums are met.

Payment Schedule

Full payment of $250 (Friends of the Railroad Museum Members) or $275 per person (non-members) is due to AAA to confirm your reservation.

Cancellation/Penalties

After April 1, 2026, No refunds.

This Ramble is subject to cancellation due to insufficient and/or late registration. Please contact the Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania or go online at www.rrmuseumpa.org for membership options. Included in these rates is $21.00, which is a contribution to the nonprofit Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. This amount is tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. (Contribution may be less if the minimum number of passengers is not achieved.) The $25.00 non-member fee in these rates is also a contribution to the Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.

Tour Activity Level: 3

Moderate- Good mobility is required for this trip. Climbing stairs and standing for 2-3 hours at a time, as well as walking on uneven terrain may be necessary. Portions of the itinerary may include higher altitudes. The itinerary may involve longer days up to 12-14 hours in length. The activity level is not recommended for travelers with significant mobility concerns.

Travel Assistance

For personal comfort, group participants who need assistance are required to have a traveling companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing the needed assistance.
