Motorcycle Roadside Assistance

AAA roadside assistance is for more than just cars. To get a plan covering motorcycles, you can enroll in our Plus RV or Premier RV plans. No matter what you need, AAA can help you find it and ensure you sign up for the right program.

What is covered in AAA Motorcycle Roadside Assistance?

Whether you’re driving a motorcycle or you’re a passenger, our plans have you covered. You’ll receive all the traditional benefits of AAA membership, including rewards and discounts on things like car rentals. You’ll also receive:

Motorcycle towing: When you break down on the side of the road, we can get there in a flash and tow your bike to the nearest service station. Mileage may vary based on your membership level.

Extrication: Motorcycles can get stuck in mud, snow or even in a ditch on the side of the road. Instead of wasting time trying to get yourself out, call AAA to extricate your bike.

Flat tire service: Whether you’re going on a short ride or a road trip, getting a flat tire can put a damper on your plans. We can come to fix the flat, filling up the tire so you can get back on your way.

Emergency fuel delivery: Running out of gas in the middle of nowhere will never be fun, but it’s a lot more convenient when you can get AAA to bring fuel to your location. We’ll bring enough gas to help you get to the next fuel station.

Locksmith services: Breaking the key to your motorcycle is a pain. If you have to call a locksmith to get a replacement key, AAA will reimburse you for the cost of the service.

We even offer trailer assistance. When you haul your motorcycle in a trailer, you’ll receive coverage when it gets a flat tire or you need extrication, towing or our other services.

What type of membership do I need to receive Motorcycle Roadside Assistance?

To get a plan covering motorcycles, you can enroll in our Plus RV or Premier RV plans.

Bicycle Roadside Assistance

We offer transportation services to riders who have disabled or inoperable bikes. All AAA members qualify for AAA roadside assistance for bicycles. You can receive our benefits even if your bike is a rental or you blow a tire on a trailer you pull with your bike.

How do you get AAA bicycle roadside assistance?

It works the same way as requesting roadside assistance for any vehicle. Just call the number on your AAA card or log onto our mobile app to report a problem. You’ll need to stay with the bike to receive service, and you must show your membership card when the AAA assistance arrives.

What type of AAA Bicycle Roadside Assistance can I get?

When you have a AAA membership, you can receive all types of roadside assistance when your bicycle breaks down. We can transport you as part of your roadside assistance allotment, taking your bike to a point of safety within the range of the breakdown. We can take those with a Classic membership 5 miles. Plus members get 100 miles, and Premium members receive 200 miles once and 100 miles in subsequent transports.

When you take to the road for a long bike trip, you don’t need to worry about breakdowns. We have your back. We can pick you up in lots of situations, such as when:

  • You become lost or disoriented on a bike ride.
  • You don’t have enough energy to bike home.
  • You become dehydrated and need to stop biking.

Does Roadside Assistance include bicycle repair?

Our services don’t include bicycle repair, but we can bring you to a place where you can get your flat tire changed or have the chain reattached to the bike.

What doesn’t Bicycle Roadside Assistance cover?

We cannot cover parts and tires or locksmith services. If your breakdown happens far away from a hard-surface road and we can’t access you by vehicle, you will need to move to a regularly traveled road or parking lot so we can pick you up.

What to Do When You Need Roadside Assistance

Each year, millions of people run into issues with their cars while driving. If your car has ever broken down on the side of the road, you know how it feels. Knowing what to do to keep yourself and your passengers safe, as well as who to call for help, restores your peace of mind.

In these situations, it’s vital to take a minute to compose yourself before taking action. At AAA, we know these experiences can bring about a lot of emotions, but we stress the importance of acting fast and rationally. Give us a call. We promise to answer and send someone to you as soon as possible.

When you need AAA roadside assistance, follow these six steps:

  1. Pull Off the Road: The moment you suspect something may be wrong with your vehicle, it’s important to pull off the main road or highway. On most roads, it’s best to pull to the right shoulder. But on some highways, there may be more room on the left. If you cannot make it off the road, turn on your hazard lights. If your car breaks down in the middle of the road, exit your car and make your way to safety. Don’t try to push your automobile yourself — this will only increase your risk of getting hurt.
  2. Know Your Vehicle’s Location: It’s important to get into the habit of monitoring your location as you drive. To ensure you fully benefit from our emergency roadside assistance, we need to be able to find you! Note any nearby buildings, road signs, exit numbers or mile markers. If you use our app, we can find you even if you are unsure of your location.
  3. Try to Figure Out the Problem: No matter what happens, assessing your vehicle’s problem starts with staying calm. What can you see? Is there smoke coming from your hood or need a tire change? Did your engine shut off, or did you run out of gas? Maybe you locked your keys in the car. Our roadside assistance experts will be there for you.
  4. Alert Others Drivers: To ensure other drivers can see your vehicle, turn on your emergency hazards or tie a brightly colored cloth to your antenna or door handle.
  5. Call AAA: Using your phone, a pay phone or a borrowed cell phone, give us a call and explain your situation. We take requests 24 hours a day over the phone and through our mobile app. We’ll need to know where you are and what you need (rescue, gas, battery start, keys locked in the car, tire change and so on). Remember to program our AAA number into your cell phone (800-222-4357). We also recommend writing our number down and keeping it in your glove box in case you find yourself without your smartphone, wallet or purse.
  6. Stay With Your Vehicle: Now, all you have to do is sit back and relax. Make sure to lock your doors and close your windows for extra safety.

How do AAA and car insurance Roadside Assistance benefits compare?

At AAA, we clearly outline all our benefits when you sign up for our plan. You may have a more challenging time determining your benefits when paying extra for roadside assistance through a car insurer. The terms you receive will sound vaguer in some cases. For example, your insurer may state that they will bring your car to “the nearest towing facility.” That will vary depending on your location, which means you may be stuck paying extra for something you have no control over.

We also emphasize customer service in all of our dealings. We know that when you call from the side of the road, you may feel stressed, worried or frustrated. High-quality service is a must in these scenarios. We’ll walk you through whatever the situation is, and our service representatives are trained to deliver the best help. Car insurance agents usually deal with different problems, and they may not be as well-versed in addressing the issues you need aid with.

Plus, when you sign up for AAA, you’ll receive additional benefits that you don’t get with car insurance. These include:

Car rentals: We give all members discounts on car rentals.
Discounts and rewards: You can also get lower prices at some auto repair shops and service stations.
Multi-car coverage: If you aren’t driving, you can still use your AAA benefits to cover a car where you’re a passenger.
DMV services: You can come to AAA to do certain tasks, such as renewing your vehicle’s registration, and avoid the long lines at your local DMV.
A mobile app: Our app allows you to contact us directly for help. It also makes it easy to track how long it will take a truck to reach you.

We also prioritize prompt service. We want you off the side of the road as quickly as possible, so we’ll work to get to you fast.
