There are many electric vehicles on the market, and even more are coming out within the next year. Electric vehicles are an excellent way to reduce your environmental impact while traveling.

Below you'll learn more about the best EV cars coming out in 2023 and what makes them a good option if you're looking to transition to electric.

This new vehicle boasts a roomy interior with innovative features like the revolving information and entertainment screen. The Fisker Ocean can make it up to 350 miles on one charge and incorporates various sustainable materials on its interior.

You can currently preorder the Fisker Ocean, starting at $68,999*. Once the company releases the complete line, you can choose from affordable models, such as the Fisker Ocean Sport, with a starting price of $37,499*.

Hyundai Ioniq 5

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is one of the most affordable EV models on the market, starting at $41,450* for the base model. This vehicle has impressive range and power, providing stunning performance matching some of the most popular EV models. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 has a range of 303 miles on a full charge and 320 horsepower. This EV can reach 0 to 60 mph in just a few seconds.

Despite its quick speed and impressive performance, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is still practical to drive around town. The accelerator pedal is linear when driving at lower speeds, making it easy to pull away from stop signs and lights. You can enjoy this model for leisurely drives around the city or at higher speeds on highways and interstates.

Canoo Pickup Truck

The Canoo pickup has a unique pod-like design with a long body and a modular bed. The Canoo pickup is ideal for workers since it offers a fold-down work table with electrical outlets. You can work and charge your devices simultaneously.

With two electric motors, the Canoo can produce 500 or higher horsepower, providing all the power you need. This electric vehicle can help you reach up to 200 or more miles on a single charge.

Volvo XC40 Recharge

Volvo's newest EV is the XC40 Recharge with a 78-kWh battery and an impressive 402 horsepower. You can travel 200 or more miles on a full charge with the XC40 Recharge. The interior is comfortable, with upholstered seating and plenty of room for the driver and passengers.

The Volvo EV puts safety first, equipped with automated emergency braking and pedestrian detection to help keep you and your family safe on the road. There are plenty of driver-aids available in the Volvo model if safety is your primary concern when choosing an EV.

Jeep EV

Jeep doesn't have a fully EV vehicle on the market, just two hybrid cars. However, this will change in 2023 with the all-electric Jeep SUV. Though we've only seen teaser images — and official specs have yet to release — many predict it will resemble the Jeep Compass.

Jeep is also releasing the Jeep Wrangler EV Magneto in 2023, perfect for those who want to drive on all terrains. While the exact specifications haven't been released, it will likely boast a 285-horsepower electric motor with a six-speed manual transmission. Due to the design, the EV Jeep Wrangler will have a smaller battery pack, though the exact capacity has yet to be announced. The standard model is estimated to start at $50,000*, but there's no official word as of yet.

Mercedes-Benz EQE and EQS SUV

Mercedes-Benz is releasing two electric vehicles in 2023, the EQE and the EQS. The EQE is a smaller yet more affordable alternative to the EQS sedan. This model boasts a 90-kWh battery that can charge quickly. You can charge the EQE from 10% to 100% in 30 minutes with the right charger. The EQE also has 288 horsepower, competing with other models on the market. The interior has a luxury design, including an impressive surround system, ambient lighting in 64 colors and facial recognition for authentication.

The EQS is another Mercedes-Benz release with numerous capabilities and a roomy interior. This model can charge as fast as the EQS and has a range of 350 miles on a full charge.

Nissan Ariya

Nissan Ariya

The Nissan Ariya is the upgraded follow-up to Nissan's debut EV, the Leaf. The Ariya gives you different options when choosing a model. You can pick front- or all-wheel drive and choose from standard or long-range batteries to accommodate your needs. You can reach up to 304 miles on a full charge.

The starting price for the base model is $43,190* but will increase if you choose models with more specs and amenities.

Subaru Solterra

Subaru is releasing its first EV, the 2023 Subaru Solterra. This model comes with all-wheel drive and an impressive ground clearance of 8.3 inches. The Solterra will get you up to 228 miles when fully charged. Considering a DC fast charger will get you to 80% in under 60 minutes, the Solterra is designed to keep you moving.

Prices for the base Solterra model start at $44,995*, and you can go ahead and purchase the vehicle, one of the best EVs in 2023.

VinFast VF 8 and VF 9

VinFast is a brand-new EV company based out of Vietnam and is slated to release two new EV SUVs in 2023. The VF 8 will be a mid-sized SUV, while the VF 9 will be a full-size SUV, offering all-wheel drive and your choice of standard or long-range batteries to accommodate your travel needs.

You can also opt into a battery subscription service based on your usage. This service includes a lifetime battery warranty and a guarantee to replace any battery that falls below 70% charging capacity. The starting prices for the VF 8 are $59,000* and $83,000* for the VF 9.

GMC Hummer EV SUV

Following the GMC Hummer EV Pickup, the company is releasing the new 2023 GMC Hummer EV SUV. With this new addition, GMC will have three electric vehicles. This brand-new SUV will have many of the same popular features as the pickup, including Extract Mode and CrabWalk to help raise suspension for travel over off-road obstacles and allow the vehicle to travel diagonally at lower speeds.

The GMC Hummer EV SUV also boasts some impressive performance specifications for drivers, including a 0 to 60 mph time of 3.5 seconds, 830 horsepower and torque up to 11,500 lb-ft.

Ford F-150 Lightning

The Ford F-150 Lightning utilizes many of the same features and components as the popular F-150. The electric version doesn't stray too far from the internal combustion model, making it an ideal choice for those who want the same benefits as the standard version. The Lightning comes equipped with all-wheel drive and goes from 0 to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds.

Despite its quick speed, it's still an ideal vehicle to drive around town. The Lightning utilizes cutting-edge technology, making it one of the most exciting EVs to look for in 2023.

IndiEV Indi One

The Indi One is the first electric vehicle the IndiEV startup released in 2023. This model is an SUV with an impressive 230 miles on a full charge. The Indi One also offers all-wheel drive. Prices for this model start at $45,000* for the base model with the base trim, and you can start making reservations now to receive your own model in 2023.

This EV stands out from other models on the market because passengers can edit photos and videos, play games and live stream while on the road. For tech-savvy families or those looking for additional forms of entertainment on long trips, the IndiEV Indi One could be an ideal choice.
