Since 2022, AAA Central Penn and Partner Organizations Fill Backpacks for Local Children in Need

AAA Central Penn wants to make sure that local children have what they need to be successful. That's why AAA, through its AAA Cares community volunteer program, has partnered with a dozen other Central Pennsylvania organizations for its forth annual AAA Cares Backpack Program in 2025. The program has provided over 3,300 backpacks filled with school supplies to children in all nine counties that AAA Central Penn serves including Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Huntingdon, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Mifflin, and Perry.  

Thanks to the support of AAA Central Penn and community partners, AAA Central Penn hopes to donate a minimum of 2,000 more backpacks in 2025. Students not only receive backpacks this year, but also important tools that are needed to stay organized. like three-ring binders, folders, notebooks, pencils, and MORE. With caregivers expected to spend $890 per child in grades K-12 on back-to-school supplies, according to National Retail Federation, every bit of support for children in need can help. Assembly lines will be setup in participating AAA offices for team members to come together and support the program.

This list will be updated with any new 2025 sponsors.

Benefitting organizations include, the Mix, Crispus Attucks Community Center, Sylvan Heights Science Center, Lower Dauphin Communities that Care, New Hope Ministries, Project Share, The Lumina Center, Lebanon School District, Warwick School District, a local women's shelter, and local back-to-school events.
