AAA Honors 2024 Central PA Four Diamond Award Recipients
Three Central Pennsylvania establishments were recently honored by AAA Central Penn with Four Diamond Awards, which recognize the properties for meeting AAA’s high quality standards.
The recipients are The Inn at Leola Village, a historic hotel and spa in Leola, Lancaster County; The Hotel Hershey, a Historic Hotel of America as designated by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and a Four-Diamond recipient for the 44th consecutive year; and The Circular, the flagship fine dining restaurant at The Hotel Hershey.
In addition to the Four Diamond Awards, the properties each received a $2,000 gift from AAA Cares – AAA Central Penn’s community volunteer and giving program – to make a donation to a local charitable organization of their choice.
The Inn at Leola Village donated its AAA Cares gift to Pet Pantry of Lancaster County, which helps people who are in need support and care for their pets. The Hotel Hershey and The Circular each donated their AAA Cares gifts to Cocoa Packs, which provides food to children in need, and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Pennsylvania, which keeps families together in a comforting and safe environment while their children receive essential medical care.
AAA’s Diamond-rating system is the only restaurant and hotel rating system that uses full-time, professionally trained evaluators to inspect properties on a routine and unannounced basis. AAA also rates more properties than any other professional rating system in North America. The program includes nearly 60,000 Diamond-rated establishments.
More than a typical rating system, AAA’s Diamond designations reflect the type of experience a property offers so you can choose the right hotel for every trip and the right restaurant for every dining occasion.
Annual unannounced inspections include a detailed look at a property’s quality, cleanliness and condition. After an establishment is “Inspected and Approved,” the AAA inspector reviews a comprehensive list of attributes to determine the rating level based on the extensiveness of services, facilities and amenities.
A hotel with a Four Diamond rating is refined and stylish, providing upscale physical attributes, extensive amenities and a high degree of hospitality, service and attention to detail. A Four Diamond restaurant is geared to individuals in search of a distinctive fine-dining experience. Often orchestrated by an executive chef and an accomplished staff, menus reflect a high degree of creativity and complexity, using imaginative presentations to enhance high quality, market-fresh ingredients.
