ITINERARY

Tuesday, September 24: Travel to Cape Cod, Scenic Sunset Cruise 

5:30AM: Motorcoach will depart from Lititz, Penn Cinema, 541 Airport Road, Lititz.

6:30AM: Motorcoach will depart Harrisburg, AAA Central Penn office, 2301 Paxton Church Rd, upper lot behind building; travel to Massachusetts with appropriate rest stops en-route. 

Before arriving at the hotel, we’ll make a stop at Olde Mistick Village, stroll the beautiful lanes and enjoy shopping in distinctive buildings designed to represent an 18th century New England Village. The shopkeepers pride themselves on offering some of the most interesting and unique items from around the world. Enjoy free time for shopping and lunch. Then set off for your Coastal Flavors tour with deliciously fun filled adventures, sipping and tasting your way around coastal Massachusetts! Upon arrival breathe the salt sea air and feel the coastal breezes as we arrive to the beautiful shores of Cape Cod. Check into the hotel with time to freshen up before the evenings festivities. Tonight, we'll embark on a scenic sunset cruise around Hyannis Harbor where we'll take in breathtaking views while sipping on a cocktail. After the cruise, enjoy a savory shore dinner along with musical entertainment.  Hotel: Hampton Inn & Suites, West Yarmouth, MA (Dinner)

Wednesday, September 25: Chatham, Provincetown Dune tour & Truro Vineyards

Following breakfast, depart with our local guide for a fun-filled day of touring the lower and outer Cape! Begin with the charming seaside village of Chatham with a picture stop at the Chatham Light. We’ll continue on to the Cape Cod National Seashore for spectacular views off the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Continue on to Provincetown, the tip of the Cape, and spend time browsing the downtown waterfront area with all its artistic and eclectic shops. Next we’ll depart in Suburban’s on a dune tour of the Cape, enjoying the beautiful natural scenery and coastline. We’ll finish off the afternoon with a visit to Truro Vineyards for a special private tour and wine tasting. Tonight we’ll feast on a traditional Cape Cod lobster dinner at one of the Cape’s popular seafood restaurants. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Thursday, September 26: Hyannis, Candy Demo, Sandwich, Plymouth, Historic Pub Crawl

After breakfast we'll depart with our guide for another fun day of touring. Venture to Main Street for a visit to one of the Cape's most beloved candy stores, Kandy Korner where we'll enjoy a demonstration of their favorite candies along with tasty samples.  Then set off for a tour around Hyannisport where we’ll make a photo stop at the Kennedy Memorial and Korean War Memorial overlooking scenic Veteran’s Beach and the Cape’s oldest town of Sandwich. As we make our way to America’s Hometown of Plymouth, enjoy a guided tour with photo stops at the National Monument to the Forefathers, Plymouth Rock, and Mayflower II, overlooking beautiful Plymouth Harbor.  The adventure continues, as we head to Boston to check into the hotel with time to freshen up before meeting our guide for a historic tavern tour along the Freedom Trail, where we’ll see historic sites related to the American Revolution and sample beer at a couple of the nation’s most historic taverns. Tonight, dinner will be on your own at one of the cities great restaurants. Hotel: Hilton Garden Inn, Waltham, MA. (Breakfast)

Friday, September 27: Boston Tour, Brewery, Fenway Park, Scenic Cruise 

After breakfast we’ll depart with our guide for a fun tour around historic Boston. We'll travel past many places that make Boston the birthplace of freedom and a city of firsts. Sights include the golden-domed State House, Bunker Hill, Boston Common, Copley Square, Government Center, Newbury Street, Quincy Market, Prudential Tower, and so much more!  You’ll have independent time at Faneuil Hall Marketplace for lunch on our own. This afternoon, the tour wouldn't be complete with a visit to one of Boston's Famous Breweries for a tasting. Tour “America’s Most Beloved Ballpark” as it is uniquely nestled in the city of Boston. Fenway Park is a place where dreams are made, traditions are celebrated and baseball is forever. Enjoy a scenic narrated cruise along the Charles River where we'll be amazed by magnificent views of the city!  The captain and crew will entertain and educate you while pointing out the historic and cultural sights. Tonight, dinner will be an Italian feast in North End Boston's historic Italian neighborhood.  (Breakfast, Dinner)

Saturday, September 28: View Boston Observatory, Winery Tasting

After breakfast depart with our guide to View Boston!  View Boston is a 360° taste of the city, offering breathtaking views atop one of the tallest buildings in New England. This afternoon, enjoy an included lunch at one of New England's historic inns followed by a winery visit and tasting, before departing for Central Pennsylvania with appropriate rest and meal stops en-route. (Breakfast, Lunch)

To truly experience the program and destination, you need to be able to participate in physical activities such as longer walking tours, walking over uneven terrain, climbing stairs, and periods of standing. Some of the touring days may be longer, with select included activities occurring later in the evening.

Travel Documents

A government-issued photo I.D (such as a driver’s license) is required for this tour. Must be 21 years or older for wine, beer tastings. 

As travel policies are rapidly changing due to COVID-19, final requirements will be communicated prior to departure. Please see your Travel Advisor for additional information. 

Payment

$300 per person deposit due at the time of booking to confirm your reservation. Final payment is due to AAA by  July 25, 2024.

Cancellation/Penalties

A $25 per person cancellation fee will be charged by Discoveries in addition to any other supplier’s fees. From   July 25, 2024 to day of departure no refunds.

Insurance

For your protection AAA recommends travel insurance. Pre-existing medical conditions may be waived with proper coverage if travel insurance is purchased within 14 days of initial deposit only. Other conditions may apply; ask your travel agent. AAA recommends Allianz.

Clothing/Climate

Temperatures for New England in September average in the 70s. Casual clothes and comfortable walking shoes are recommended; be prepared for potential inclement weather.

Travel Assistance

For personal comfort, group participants who need assistance are required to have a traveling companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing the needed assistance.
