6:00AM: Motorcoach will depart Harrisburg, AAA Central Penn office, 2301 Paxton Church Road, upper lot behind building.

7:00AM: Motorcoach will depart Lititz, Penn Cinema, 541 Airport Road, Lititz; travel to Washington, D.C. with a rest stop en route.

Morning arrival in Washington, D.C. for a day on your own to explore our Nation's Capital. You may choose to go wild at The National Zoo where you can find all sorts of animals. Lions, tigers and giraffes are just some of the 1,500 - plus animals that call the 163-acre park home. The zoo features 300 different species and about 25 percent of the zoo's residents are endangered. You may wish to visit the Monuments and Memorials that honor American forefathers and heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to this country. Or you might want to visit the world-class museums with something for everyone and where history, science, art, and culture come alive. There is so much to see and do in Washington, D.C. The Smithsonian Institution consists of 17 museums, galleries and a zoo and all of them have free admission.
 

5:00PM: Approximate departure time for Central Pennsylvania with a fast food stop en-route.

8:00PM: Approximate arrival time back in Lancaster/Lititz.

9:00PM: Approximate arrival time back in Harrisburg.

This tour includes moderate physical activity. The itinerary blends some longer days with shorter days and more leisure time. Walking tours, as well as walking slightly longer distances, up stairs, or on uneven walking surfaces, should be expected.

Payment

Full payment of $119 per person is due to AAA with this registration to confirm your reservation.  

Cancellation/Penalties

After June 16, 2024: No refunds.

Insurance

For your protection AAA recommends travel insurance. Pre-existing medical conditions may be waived with proper coverage if travel insurance is purchased within 14 days of initial deposit only. Other conditions may apply; ask your travel agent. AAA recommends Allianz.

Clothing/Climate

Temperatures for Washington, D.C. in August average in the 80s. Casual clothes and comfortable walking shoes are recommended; be prepared for potential inclement weather.

Travel Assistance

For personal comfort, group participants who need assistance are required to have a traveling companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing the needed assistance.
