Saturday, July 20: Travel to Montreal

5:00AM: Motorcoach will depart from Lititz, Penn Cinema, 541 Airport Road Lititz 

6:00AM: Depart from Harrisburg, AAA Central Penn, 2301 Paxton Church Rd; travel to Montreal with appropriate rest and meal stops en-route. Check into the hotel with time to freshen up before a delightful dinner at a local restaurant. The remainder of the evening is at your leisure to venture out and experience Montreal on your own.  Hotel: Marriott Montreal Chateau Champlain, Montreal, QC.  (Dinner)

Sunday, July 21: Montreal City Tour, Notre Dame Basilica, Travel to Quebec City, 

After breakfast, we'll meet our knowledgeable step-on guide where we'll explore Montreal, a city known for its French speaking culture. Discover the city's unique blend of old and new, and take in its stunning architecture and bustling atmosphere. Enjoy a tour of Notre Dame Basilica and visit Mount Royal Park, home to St. Joseph Oratory, one of the world's most visited centers of pilgrimage.  Later, enjoy lunch on your own in Old Montreal (Vieux-Montreal), where the city's rich history comes to life through its charming cobblestone streets and diverse architectural styles. This afternoon head to Quebec City to check into the hotel with time to freshen up  before a delightful dinner. Hotel: Hotel Manoir Victoria, Quebec, QC.  (Breakfast, Dinner) 

Monday, July 22: Beaupre Coast & Quebec City 

After breakfast, embark with the local guide on a morning of exploration along the picturesque Saint Lawrence River. Visit the Albert Gilles Copper Museum, where for nearly a century, the Gilles family has been entranced by the "art of repousse". Admire the masterful interpretations of craftsman Albert Giles, whose talent has been sought after by prestigious figures such as Pope Pius XII and Walt Disney. Next, make your way to the stunning Saint Anne de Beaupre Basilica the second oldest pilgrimage site in North America. Be amazed by the shrine's rich history as you marvel at its exquisite paintings, stained glass, mosaics, and wooden sculptures. View the majestic Montmorency Falls. This afternoon enjoy a lunch at the iconic Chateau Frontenac Hotel, a legendary landmark that has been a symbol of elegance and luxury since its construction in 1893. After lunch, embark on an unforgettable tour of Quebec City, where you'll marvel at the city's stunning architecture and learn about its fascinating history. From cannons and loopholes to the star-shaped Citadel, Artillery Park , and magnificent fortresses, this tour will take you on a journey through the city's evolution under both French and English regimes. Tuesday, July 23: Traditional Sugar Shack Luncheon & Canada's Capital 

After breakfast depart for breathtaking views of the western side of the Saint Lawrence River. This afternoon arrive at one of Quebec's traditional Sugar Shacks - the Sucrerie de la Montagne. Here, you'll be able to enjoy a delicious meal and an authentic experience that truly captures the essence of Quebec's rich cultural heritage. Then we'll head to Ottawa to check into the hotel and enjoy the remainder of the evening on your own to explore and have dinner at your leisure.  Hotel: Courtyard by Marriott Downtown, Ottawa, ON. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Wednesday, July 24: Ottawa City Tour, Rideau Hall, RMCP Stables & Canal Cruise

After breakfast, we'll meet our guide to embark on an exciting tour of Canada's Capital City. Stop for a picturesque view of the Canadian Parliament (tours are subject to availability). The stunning buildings and grounds of Parliament Hill are not only architecturally beautiful but also carry great historical significance and serve as the site of federal decision-making. Next, visit the magnificent Rideau Hall, which has served as the official residence and workplace of every Governor General since 1867. Take a tour of the historic building and admire the stunning landscape. You'll have fee time to explore and enjoy lunch at the famous ByWard Market. Following lunch visit the Royal Mounted Canadian Police Stables for an inside look at the stable's tack room, Ferrier Shop, and the Arena where they practice. In the visitor's center, enjoy a video showcasing the history of the Musical Ride and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. We'll end the day with a relaxing canal cruise offering breathtaking views of the cityscape. Tonight, enjoy a delightful dinner at one of Ottawa's restaurants. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Thursday, July 25: Thousand Islands Lunch Cruise & CN Tower

After breakfast, depart for the picturesque Thousand Islands region for a scenic and unforgettable lunch cruise. Sail past dozens of enchanting islands including fairytale castles, historic lighthouses, and sprawling island mansions while listening to fascinating stories of pirates, bootleggers, and the opulent lifestyles of the Gilded Age elite who frequented this area. This afternoon travel to Toronto to check into the hotel. Tonight, we'll venture out to the CN Tower for spectacular views of the city and beyond!  The rest of the evening will be at your leisure to explore and have dinner on your own. Hotel: Chelsea Hotel Tower, Toronto, ON. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Friday, July 26: Niagara On The Lake, Niagara Winery, Niagara Falls

After breakfast we begin our journey to the picturesque Victorian-style village of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Spend free time exploring the charming shops and have lunch on your own at one of the local restaurants. This afternoon we'll take a scenic drive through the beautiful wine country and visit one of the renowned vineyards for a wine tasting. Next, we'll meet our guide and depart on a highlights tour of Niagara Falls, followed by a breathtaking Hornblower Niagara Cruise that takes you straight into the heart of the Horseshoe Falls, experiencing the mighty mist of the falls. Check into the hotel with time to freshen up before dinner. We'll see the incredible illumination of the falls, which transforms the majestic natural wonder into a spectacular multi-colored water and light masterpiece.  Hotel: Hilton Niagara Fallsview Hotel & Suites, Niagara Falls, ON. Saturday, July 27: Depart for Central Pennsylvania. 

After breakfast depart for Central Pennsylvania with appropriate rest and meal stops en-route. (Breakfast)

This tour includes moderate physical activity. The itinerary blends some longer days with shorter days and more leisure time. Walking tours, as well as walking slightly longer distances, up stairs, or on uneven walking surfaces, should be expected.

Payment

$300 per person deposit due at the time of booking to confirm your reservation. Final payment is due to AAA by  May 20, 2024.
 

Cancellation/Penalties

A $25 per person cancellation fee will be charged by Discoveries in addition to any other supplier’s fees. From  May 20, 2024 to day of departure no refunds.

Insurance

For your protection AAA recommends travel insurance. Pre-existing medical conditions may be waived with proper coverage if travel insurance is purchased within 14 days of initial deposit only. Other conditions may apply; ask your travel agent. AAA recommends Allianz.

Clothing/Climate

Temperatures for Eastern Canada average in the 70s. Casual clothes and comfortable walking shoes are recommended; be prepared for potential inclement weather.

Travel Assistance

For personal comfort, group participants who need assistance are required to have a traveling companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing the needed assistance.
