ITINERARY

Friday, June 20: Welcome Cocktail, Dinner, Dirty Dancing Lessons 

7:00AM: Motorcoach will depart from Lititz, Penn Cinema, 541 Airport Road, Lititz.

8:00AM: Motorcoach will depart Harrisburg, AAA Central Penn office, 2301 Paxton Church Road; travel to Virginia.  

** Departure times are approximate and will be confirmed closer to travel. 

Set in the middle of a 2,600 acre nature preserve and surrounded by the Appalachian Mountains, rustic and historic Mountain Lake Lodge is the ultimate retreat. Breathe in crisp, fresh air, dine on gourmet fare and build family memories with fun indoor and outdoor activities. Arrive to an unhurried pace and enjoy adventure and comfort in the heart of the Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains. Drive up the mountain and you'll feel as though you've entered a new world. Upon checking in discover several themed goodies within your accommodation and enjoy a welcome cocktail.  You'll have time to freshen up and enjoy the grounds before a delightful dinner at the Farm to Table Harvest Restaurant. Following dinner, dance the night away in the Grand Ballroom; learn the same moves as Baby & Johnny from the hit movie "Dirty Dancing". Hotel: Mountain Lake Lodge , Pembroke, VA (Dinner)

Saturday, June 21: Recreation Activities & Paint & Sip Class

Awake on top of the world in the serenity of nature as you enjoy breakfast.  You will have ample time to stroll the nature preserve, enjoy the adventure center and activity pavilion, check out the boutique shops or just relax.  Tonight, enjoy dinner at the Farm to Table Harvest Restaurant.  Following dinner enjoy a guided Paint & Sip Class. Paint your favorite scene from the film "Dirty Dancing". (Breakfast, Dinner) 

Sunday, June 22: Guided Dirty Dancing Tour,  Travel to Central Pennsylvania 

After breakfast you will have ample time to enjoy the resort. Set out on a guided stroll through the filming locations from the movie "Dirty Dancing" such as Kellerman's Mountain House, Baby's cabin, and the location of the famed lift.  This afternoon depart for Central Pennsylvania with appropriate comfort stops en-route. (Breakfast)

This tour requires average physical activity. You should be in good health, able to climb stairs and walk reasonable distances, possibly over uneven ground and cobblestoned streets.

General Information

Travel Documents

As travel policies are rapidly changing due to COVID-19, final requirements will be communicated prior to departure. Please see your Travel Advisor for additional information. 

Payment

$150 per person deposit is due at the time of booking to confirm your reservation. Final payment is due to AAA by  March 15, 2025.

Cancellation/Penalties

A $25 per person cancellation fee will be charged by Discoveries in addition to any other supplier’s fees. From  March 15, 2025 to day of departure no refunds.

Insurance

For your protection AAA recommends travel insurance. Pre-existing medical conditions may be waived with proper coverage if travel insurance is purchased within 14 days of initial deposit only. Other conditions may apply; ask your travel agent. AAA recommends Allianz.

Clothing/Climate

Temperatures for Virginia in June average in the 60s. Casual clothes and comfortable walking shoes are recommended; be prepared for potential inclement weather.  Mountain Lake Lodge: No elevator, you need to be able to handle the steps.  

Travel Assistance

For personal comfort, group participants who need assistance are required to have a traveling companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing the needed assistance.
