8:00AM: Motorcoach will depart Harrisburg, AAA Central Penn office, 2301 Paxton Church Rd, upper lot behind building; travel to New York City, NY a rest stop en route. Welcome to the Big Apple!

Welcome to the Big Apple! Today will be at your leisure to explore New York City on your own. Take in a Broadway show, tour the museums, shop the Avenues, or visit sites like the Statue of Liberty, Top of the Rock Observation Deck, or Rockefeller Center. After a late afternoon hotel check-in, freshen up and enjoy dinner on your own in one of the many New York City restaurants. Hotel: Voco Times Square South, New York City, NY.

Thursday, November 28: Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, & Thanksgiving Feast

After breakfast, enjoy a once in a lifetime experience – The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! Bundle up and set out as early as you would like to find your spot for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.* Truly be amazed, as you view the extravagant floats, talented performers, TV and movie celebrities, and the parade’s iconic giant balloons. Following the parade, enjoy a Thanksgiving Feast, complete with all the trimmings! As you depart for Central Pennsylvania, take with you fond memories of your holiday at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. (Breakfast, Lunch)

*There are no reserved seats for the parade; please feel free to bring along your own chair.

This tour includes moderate physical activity. The itinerary blends some longer days with shorter days and more leisure time. Walking tours, as well as walking slightly longer distances, up stairs, or on uneven walking surfaces, should be expected.

Travel Documents

A government-issued photo I.D (such as a driver’s license) is required for this tour.

As travel policies are rapidly changing due to COVID-19, final requirements will be communicated prior to departure. Please see your Travel Advisor for additional information. 

Payment

$150 per person deposit due at the time of booking to confirm your reservation. Final payment is due to AAA by  September 4, 2024.

Cancellation/Penalties

A $25 per person cancellation fee will be charged by Discoveries in addition to any other supplier’s fees. From   September 13, 2024 to day of departure no refunds.

Insurance

For your protection AAA recommends travel insurance. Pre-existing medical conditions may be waived with proper coverage if travel insurance is purchased within 14 days of initial deposit only. Other conditions may apply; ask your travel agent. AAA recommends Allianz.

Clothing/Climate

Temperatures for New York City in November average in the 50s. Casual clothes and comfortable walking shoes are recommended; be prepared for potential inclement weather.

Travel Assistance

For personal comfort, group participants who need assistance are required to have a traveling companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing the needed assistance.

Travel agent shall not be responsible for any injuries, damages, or losses to any traveler in connection with terrorist activities, social or labor unrest, climatic conditions, abnormal conditions or developments, or any other actions, omissions, or conditions outside the travel agent’s control. Traveler assumes complete and full responsibility for, and hereby releases the agent from any duty of, checking and verifying any and all passport, visa, vaccination, or other entry requirements of each destination, and all safety or security conditions at such destinations. By embarking upon his/her travel, the traveler voluntarily assumes all risks involved in such travel, whether expected or unexpected. Traveler’s acceptance and retention of tickets, reservations, or bookings after issuance shall constitute a consent of the above, and an agreement on his/her part to convey the contents hereto to his/her travel companions or group members.
