Monday, July 7, 2025: Welcome to Iceland
Welcome to Iceland! Begin in the capital city of Reykjavik. Get to know your fellow travelers at a local restaurant for lunch before checking into the hotel. Once you're settled, join a local expert for a walking tour of The Old City featuring the city hall, the harbor, the Parliament building, and the nearby cathedral dating back to 1796. Tuesday, July 8, 2025: Reykjavik - Golden Circle - Reykjavík
Travel the Golden Circle and experience renowned natural wonders. View the the double-cascade Gulfoss waterfall, the explosive Geysir thermal area, and the famous Thingvellir National Park where you'll stand upon the crest of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. Along the way stop at a family-run dairy to enjoy various cheeses and their famous ice cream during a light lunch. Then, visit the Frioheimar's stud farm and greenhouse cultivation center. Learn how pesticide-free produce is grown and aided with geothermal energy, and the tradition of Icelandic show horses before returning to Reykjavík. (Breakfast, Lunch)
Wednesday, July 9, 2025: Reykjavík- Akranes - Keykholt
Explore the western side of Iceland's coastline and visit Akranes, an old fishing town at the base of Akrafjall Mountain. Capture an image by the lighthouse and climb up the stairs for stunning views. Listen to mysterious stories about this area, or take a leisurely walk along the historical harbor if you choose. Continue to Deildartunguhver, the highest-flowing hot spring in Europe. Stroll along several wooden walkways and observation points to explore the hot springs safely. Thursday, July 10, 2025: Reykholt - Sykkishólmur - Grudarfjörður - Keykholt
Begin your day with stunning view as we make our way to Stykkishólur, located in the northern part of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. Search for marine birds before joining a nature cruise of Breiðafjördur Bay. As you drift across the water, sample fresh scallops and sea urchin roes straight from the ocean. You might spot puffins, cormorants, and the white-tailed eagle soaring as you look out at the shoreline. After, enjoy lunch on your own in this picturesque fishing town dotted with traditional wooden houses before continuing your journey on to Grudarfjörður. Take in views of Mount Kirkjufell with its iconic shape and freestanding form; this is one of the most photographed landscapes in Iceland. Witness Kirkjufellsfoss, a beautiful series of waterfalls, before returning to Keykholt for an evening at leisure. (Breakfast)

Learn about geothermal renewable energy at Hellisheiðavirkjun, , the largest power station in Iceland and the second largest geothermal power station the world. Next, we will visit the Lava Exhibition Center and learn about the past and present eruptions. Afterwards we will view Seljalandsfoss, a rushing waterfall where you can walk behind the water for stunning views. Saturday, July 12, 2025 Vik - Reynisfjara
Drive along the scenic south shore to the Skógar Museum. Discover its turf-built houses and its collection of farm and domestic artifacts. Nearby, find the impressive Skógafoss waterfall, one of the tallest in Iceland. Behold Reynisfjara, a black volcanic sand beach scattered with caves and surrounded by basalt columns and cliffs. The beach is rich with bird life, such as the fulmar, black guillemot, razorbill, and gannet. You might also spot some nesting puffins along the unique natural rock formations at Dyrholaey, a volcanic peninsula towering over the ocean. Cap off your day with a visit to Sólheimajökull Glacier, part of Iceland's fourth largest ice cap. Take in its dramatic, blue-white ice, rugged crevasses, and stunning views. (Breakfast, Dinner)

This morning, travel through the area of Vatnajökull, Iceland's largest National Park. On your way to Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon, marvel at the vistas and snowy mountain peaks as you board a cruise on an amphibian boat along the huge icebergs. Explore this extraordinary landscape as you search for seals swimming in cold waters. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Monday, July 14, 2025: Vik-Reykjavik
Today, make your way back to Reykjavik while taking in stunning backdrops as you approach the Reykjanes Peninsula. Visit a local studio and learn about Icelandic traditions of wool dying using natural ingredients and traditional techniques. Later this day, visit the Sky Lagoon with serene and stunning views overlooking the ocean complete with its Seven Steps Ritual. This evening, join your fellow travelers for a farewell dinner at a local restaurant and reflect on your adventures in the Land of FIre and Ice. Tuesday, July 15, 2025: Travel Back to Central PA
After breakfast transfer to the Reykjavik Airport for your flight and transportation back to Central, PA. (Breakfast)

The Northern Lights are not visible in Iceland during the Summer months. They are typically only visible from September to April.
Activity Level 3:
This tour requires moderate physical activity., The itinerary blends some longer days with shorter day and more leisure time. Walking tours, as well as walking slightly longer distances, upstairs, or on uneven walking surfaces, should be expected. The coaches may not have restrooms and lighthouse require four flights of stairs.

As of the printing of this brochure all quest are required to obtain an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) travel authorization for travel to Europe's Schengen zone (not included in the price of the trip. A deposit $698 per person will confirm you reservation. Final Payment is due to AAA by March, 28, 2025.

Flight:
Air arrangements are handled by the tour operator. Seat assignments cannot be confirmed until the tour operator releases names to the airline(s) 30 days prior to departure. Specific seat request cannot be guaranteed. Some flights may contain code share agreements.
Insurance:
For your protection, AAA recommends travel insurance. Pre-existing medical conditions may be waived with proper coverage if travel insurance is purchased within 14 days of initial deposit only. Other conditions may apply; ask your travel agent. AAA recommends Allianz.
Clothing/Climate:
July is the warmest month in Iceland. Average temperatures are in the 50's, possible upper 60s, with evening temps dropping in the low 40's. Casual clothes that can be layered work best. Comfortable walking shoes, rain gear, wind/waterproof jacket, and swimming suit to go swimming in the lagoon are recommended.
Baggage:
Due to limited space while touring, all passengers are limited to one checked bag no more than 50lbs. You may also bring a small carry-on bag small enough to fit under your seat. Soft sided carry-on bags no larger than 17"x14"x4" with a zippered enclosure are recommended. Wheeled carry-on cases that are used as carry-on luggage on airlines are too large and are not suitable as hand-carried luggage. Baggage fees are not included in the price of the trip. Baggage fees and other charges may be directly assessed by the airlines or airport.
Travel Assistance:
For personal comfort, group participants who need assistance are required to have a traveling companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing needed assistance.
