Transfer from Central, PA to the Newark International Airport for an overnight flight to Vienna, Austria. 

Friday June 27, 2025- Vienna, Austria

Welcome to Austria! Enjoy the majestic city of Vienna, Austria and explore the elegant architecture of one of Europe's most famous cities.  In the evening enjoy a welcome dinner in this romantic city. Hotel: Intercontinental Hotel Wein, Vienna (Dinner)

Saturday June 28, 2025- Vienna, Austria

Experience Vienna through a locally guided tour of the stunning and historical city as you explore Schönbrunn Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and St. Stephens Cathedral.  In the evening be entertained with a performance by opera singers and ballet dancers performing to the sounds of Strauss and Mozart. (Breakfast)

 

Sunday June 29, 2025- Vienna - Salzburg

Travel through the beautiful countryside on your way to a cruise down the Danube River, one of Europe's most famous waterways.  Then continue on to Salzburg the "City of Music" and explore the beautiful old world charm of this picturesque city. Dine in the evening on Austrian cuisine at a local restaurant. Hotel: NH Salzburg City Hotel, Salzburg (Breakfast, Dinner)

Monday June 30, 2025- Salzburg, Austria

Today,  it's your choice!  Enjoy a leisurely walking tour through Old Town Salzburg** -OR-  experience the feeling of joining the famous Von Trapp family on a Sound of Music Tour to visit iconic filming locations.  Both options will provide stunning and beautiful picturesque locations through Salzburg.  Take your time through the afternoon exploring the city at your own pace. (Breakfast) 

**Salzburg's Old Town does not allow coaches to access the center.  You should anticipate walking at least 0.5 miles in order to reach the Old Town for the start of your day's touring. 

Tuesday July 1, 2025- Salzburg - Munich - Oberammeragua, Germany

Be captivated by the stunning landscape on your way to the most popular Bavarian city of Munich, Germany.  Once we arrive it's your choice! Choose a panoramic tour of Munich highlighted by the National Theatre of Bavaria, -OR- visit the lavish National Treasury of the Munich Residence.  Both choices end with a viewing of the exquisite mechanical clock Rathaus - Glockenspiel chiming at Marienplatz.  Continue on to Oberammergau, renowned for it's 380-year old tradition of producing a Passion Play every 10 years and where you'll stay for the next two nights. Wednesday July 2, 2025- Oberammeragua - Ettal - Oberammeragua

Tour Linderhof Palace, the only palace out of three that King Ludwig II lived to see to completion.  Walk through the extraordinary halls on an expertly guided tour and soak in the luxury of royalty that were modeled after Versailles.  Afterwards you'll continue on to the most photographed castle in Europe and the source of many fairytales such as Cinderella at the historic Neuschwanstein Castle. This stunning masterpiece is inspiring to travelers of all ages. (Breakfast)

Thursday July 3, 2025- Oberammeragua - Black Forest

You're off to the heart of the legendary Black Forest, the home of artisans and expert craftsmen that create cuckoo clocks and Hummels.  This evening dine on delicious Black Forest chocolate cakes with the stunning tree-studded mountains as your backdrop. Friday July 4, 2025- Black Forest - Freiburg - Black Forest

This morning hop on a train to travel through the Black Forest countryside on your way to the medieval and vibrant town of Freiburg.  Experience Gothic cathedrals and flowing waterways throughout the town before heading to Lake Titisee for a boat ride and enjoy the beauty of the Black Forest scenery from a different perspective. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Saturday July 5, 2025- Zurich, Switzerland - Lucerne 

Embark on a scenic drive through the Black Forest on your way to Zurich Switzerland, the historic and famous financial and banking center with elegant old world charm.  Join a local tour guide for a walking tour through this beautiful city before lunch, and later head to Lucerne known as the "Swiss Paradise on a Lake".  Embark on a walking tour through the city to include exploring Old Town. Sunday July 6, 2025- Lucerne 

Enjoy the day at your own pace and explore the beautiful city of Lucerne. Perhaps you will embark on an optional excursion up to Mount Pilatus and gaze over the stunning Swiss Alps (excursion can be added for an additional fee). In the evening join your fellow travelers for a farewell dinner and dine on local cuisine as you toast the end of an amazing adventure. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Monday July 7, 2025- Lucerne - Tour Ends

Bid farewell to the Alps as your journey comes to an end and you travel back home as we fly back to Newark International Airport. (Breakfast)

This tour requires moderate physical activity. The itinerary blends some longer days with shorter days and more leisure time. Walking tours, as well as walking slightly longer distances, upstairs, or on uneven walking surfaces, should be expected. 

 

 

 

General Information

Travel Documents

An original signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay, and with at least one blank visa page for visa stamp(s) is required for this trip. As of the printing of this brochure all guests are required to obtain an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) travel  authorization to travel to Europe's Schengen Zone (not included in the price of the trip) Please see your AAA travel professional for more information. 

As travel policies are rapidly changing, final requirements will be communicated prior to departure. Please see your Travel Advisor for additional information.

Payment

A deposit of $698 per person is due at the time of reservation.  Final payment is due to AAA by  March 14, 2025. 

Cancellation/Penalties 

From the deposit date to the day of departure-  $25 per person, plus...

From December 28, 2024 to March 27, 2025-  $698 per person, plus any additional suppliers' fees

From March 28, 2025 to June 10, 2025-   40% per person, plus any additional suppliers' fees

From June 11, 2025 to June 25, 2025:      75% per person, plus any additional suppliers' fees

After June 25, 2025-                                 Non-refundable

Flight

Air arrangements are handled by the tour operator. Seat assignments cannot be confirmed until the tour operator releases names to the airline(s) 30 days prior to departure. Specific seat requests cannot be guaranteed. Some flights may contain code share agreements.

Insurance

For your protection AAA recommends travel insurance. Pre-existing medial conditions may be waived with proper coverage if travel insurance is purchased within 14 days of initial deposit only. Other conditions may apply; ask your travel agent. AAA recommends Allianz.

Clothing/Climate

Temperatures in the Alpine region in June and July average from the mid 50's to the high 70's.  Casual clothes that can be layered work best. Comfortable walking shoes and a small umbrella are recommended. 

Baggage 

Due to limited space while touring, all passengers are limited to one checked bag no more than 50lbs. You may also bring a small carry-on bag small enough to fit under your seat. Soft sided carry-on bags no larger than 17"x14"x4" with a zippered enclosure are recommended. Wheeled carry-on cases that are used as carry-on luggage on airlines are too large and are not suitable as hand-carried luggage. Baggage fees are not included in the price of the trip. Baggage fees and other charges may be directly assessed by the airlines or airport.

Travel Assistance

For personal comfort, group participants who need assistance are required to have a traveling companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing the needed assistance.  If you require any special assistance while on tour, please make us aware at time of reservation so the necessary request form can be sent to your attention.
