Sunday, October 13, 2024: Depart Central PA To New Orleans, LA

Depart by motorcoach from central PA to the Philadelphia International Airport for a flight to New Orleans, LA. Upon arrival, step back in time on a cultural getaway that opens in the "Jazz Capital of the World," New Orleans! This soulful city abounds with rich history, mouthwatering Cajun and Creole cuisine, and of course, an incomparable soundtrack. Take in the sights, flavors, and sounds of New Orleans on your own today as you have time to explore the city before the fun starts the following morning. The hotel is centrally located to shops, restaurants and the famous Bourbon Street! Hotel: Sheraton New Orleans, New Orleans, LA 

Monday, October 14, 2024: New Orleans

Join a local guide for a panoramic city tour, seeing the famous St Louis Cemetery #3 and Esplanade. Then, on to a walking tour of the French Quarter viewing the St Louis Cathedral, Pirates Alley and more. Tonight, get to know your travel companions at a New Orleans-style dinner before continuing on to Maison Bourbon, a live jazz club in the French Quarter. Wednesday, October 16, 2024: Oxford - Memphis, TN

Travel north to Memphis, the birth place of the Blues, Rock 'n' Roll, and Soul. Enjoy Southern hospitality at your hotel before jiving along to "Jailhouse Rock" as you visit Graceland, the stately mansion of the "King" himself, and tour Elvis's 14-acre estate including his home, private jets, and Meditation Garden. Thursday, October 17, 2024: Memphis

This morning, embark on a civil rights history tour via coach and follow the route of Martin Luther King Jr.'s last march, stopping at Mason Temple were he gave his famous "I've Been to the Mountaintop" speech the night before he was assassinated. Take time to explore the National Civil Rights Museum and grab lunch on your own. Later, get acquainted with the musical history of Memphis with a visit to Sun Studio, perhaps the most famous recording studio in the world before continuing on to the Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum, highlighting the musical journey of this popular city. Hotel: The Guest House at Graceland, Memphis, TN. (Breakfast)

Friday, October 18, 2024: Memphis - Nashville, TN

Roll along Music Highway to Nashville- the " Music Capital of the World." Arrive in Nashville and tour the historic Ryman Auditorium, the original home of the Grand Ole Opry. What began as a building where a local radio broadcast show aired once a week in 1925 has grown to become an entertainment complex that attracts music fans from all over the world. Saturday, October 19, 2024: Nashville

Explore the Country Music Hall of Fame, the world's largest museum of popular music, and check out the vast collections of memorabilia, costumes, recordings, and instruments. Tour RCA Studio B and gain an insider's look at Nashville's oldest remaining recording studio, where Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton and Charley Pride once recorded classic hits. You may even have the opportunity to record your own hit! After one more lunch together, it's your choice! Join a  hands-on chocolate-making lesson at the iconic Goo Goo Candy Shop- OR- visit the Johnny Cash Museum where you'll be immersed in the life and legacy of Jonny Cash a "100 Greatest Artist of All Time" honoree and the biographical inspiration for the blockbuster film, Walk the Line. Hotel: Gaylord Opryland Resort, Nashville, TN (Breakfast, Lunch)

 Sunday, October 20, 2024: Depart to Central PA

Your rockin' musical journey comes to an end. After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight and transportation back to Central PA. (Breakfast)

This tour requires moderate physical activity. The itinerary blends some longer days with shorter days and more leisure time. Walking tours, as well as walking slightly longer distances, upstairs, or on uneven walking surfaces, should be expected.

Payment:

A deposit of $698 per person will confirm your reservation. Final payment is due to AAA by August 1, 2024.

Cancellation Penalties:

Deposit date to day of departure - $25 per person, plus…

From February 13, 2024 - August 13, 2024 - $698 per person, plus any additional suppliers' fees

From August 14, 2024 - September 27, 2024 -  40% per person, plus any additional suppliers' fees 

From September 28, 2024 - October 12, 2024 - 75% per person, plus any additional suppliers' fees 

After October 12, 2024 -  NON-REFUNDABLE

Flight:

Air arrangements are handled by the tour operator. Seat assignments cannot be confirmed until the tour operator releases names to the airline(s) 30 days prior to departure. Specific seat requests cannot be guaranteed. Some flights may contain code share agreements.

Insurance:

For your protection AAA recommends travel insurance. Pre-existing medical conditions maybe waived with proper coverage if travel insurance is purchased within 14 days of initial deposit only. Other conditions may apply; ask your travel agent. AAA recommends Allianz. 

Clothing/Climate:

The average temperatures in this region in October vary from the upper 70's to 80's during the day and in the low to mid 50's in the mornings and evenings. Casual clothes that can be layered work best. Comfortable walking shoes are a must. 

Baggage:

One suitcase per person will be allowed. You may also bring a carry-on bag small enough to fit under your seat. Baggage fees are not included in the price of the trip. Baggage fees and other charges may be directly assessed by airlines or airport.

Travel Assistance:

For personal comfort, group participants who need assistance are required to have a traveling companion who is capable of totally responsible for providing the needed assistance.
