Sunday, May 11: Depart for Sacramento CA
Transfer by motorcoach from Central PA to a local airport for a flight to Sacramento CA. Enjoy a tour of the State Capitol before arriving to your hotel to get ready for a welcome dinner. Hotel: Hyatt Centric, or similar, Sacramento CA. (Dinner)
Monday, May 12: Napa Wine Country
This morning you are off to Napa wine country to visit a local winery in the morning. Enjoy lunch at a second winer this afternoon with an included tour. The rest of the evening to explore and have dinner on your own. Hotel: Napa Valley Marriott, or similar, Napa CA. (Breakfast, Lunch)
Tuesday, May 13: Napa - Sonoma Wine Country
After breakfast, travel to Sonoma wine country. You'll visit a local winery in the morning before having lunch on your own in Sonoma Square. After a visit to a 2nd winery in the afternoon, you will enjoy an included dinner at a nearby local restaurant. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Wednesday, May 14: Sonoma - Yosemite National Park
After breakfast travel to Yosemite National Park, known for granite cliffs, waterfalls, and giant sequoia trees. Stop for lunch on your own at the Oakdale Cheese Factory (or similar). After lunch you will be going into the park to see the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias. Located in the southern portion of Yosemite, the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias is the largest sequoia grove in Yosemite and is home to over 500 mature giant sequoias. Hotel: Yosemite View Lodge or similar, El Portal, CA. (Breakfast)
Thursday, May 15: Yosemite National Park
Today, enjoy an entire day in Yosemite National Park. Start the day with a Valley Tram Tour. This 2-hour open air tram tour (weather permitting) is led by park rangers and Yosemite Hospitality Naturalists. You will get to see the highlights at Yosemite as you learn about the history, flora, and fauna throughout the Park. Free time will be provided after the tour to explore on your own. After an unforgettable day at Yosemite, head back to the hotel for an included dinner to share memories of the days experiences (Breakfast, Dinner)
Friday, May 16: Yosemite National Park - San Francisco
Today you're off to San Francisco! Upon arrival explore Fisherman's Warf and have a bite to eat. After lunch, enjoy a San Francisco city tour. Get your cameras out to take pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge! This evening take in the city. Possibly ride cable cars or street cars, go shopping in Union Square or visit China Town (not included in the price of the trip). Hotel: Hotel Zephyr or similar, San Francisco, CA. (Breakfast)
Saturday, May 17: San Francisco
Following breakfast, you will depart the hotel to take a ferry to Alcatraz Island. Once a fort, a military prison, and maximum security federal penitentiary, there is plenty to see. Journey through the island at your own pace. Upon returning from "The Rock", the afternoon is at your leisure to have lunch at Pier 39. It's hard to believe your California Wine Country vacation is almost over. Share memories of this amazing trip with your fellow travelers at a farewell dinner at Swiss Louis (or similar) on Pier 39. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Sunday, May 18: Depart for Central PA
After breakfast, transfer to the San Francisco airport for your flight and transportation back to Central PA. (Breakfast)

Activity Level: 3
Moderate- Good mobility is required for this trip. Climbing stairs and standing for 2-3 hours at a time, as well as walking on uneven terrain may be necessary. Portions of the itinerary may include higher altitudes. The itinerary may involve longer days up to 12-14 hours in length. This activity level is not recommended for travelers with significant mobility concerns.

Payment:
A deposit of $250 per person will confirm your reservation. Final payment is due to AAA by January 27, 2025.
Cancellation Penalties:

From March 13 - April 26, 2025 - 50% of the tour cost per person, plus any additional suppliers’ fees
From April 27 - May 3, 2025 - 75% of the tour cost per person, plus any additional suppliers’ fees
After May 3, 2025 - NON-REFUNDABLE

Flight:
Air arrangements are handled by the tour operator. Seat assignments cannot be confirmed until the tour operator releases names to the airlines(s) 30 days prior to departure. Specific seat requests cannot be guaranteed. Some flights may contain code share agreements.
Insurance:
For your protection AAA recommends travel insurance. Pre-existing medical conditions may be waived with proper coverage if travel insurance is purchased within 14 days of initial deposit only. Other conditions may apply; ask your travel agent. AAA recommends Allianz.
Clothing/Climate:
The daily temperatures in California for May average in the low 80s during the day with cooler evenings in the mid 50s. Pack for a variety of temperatures. Casual clothes that can be layered work best. Comfortable walking shoes are a must, and a small umbrella is recommended.
Baggage:
Due to limited space while touring, all passengers are limited to one checked bag no more than 50 lbs. You may also bring a small carry-on bag small enough to fit under your seat. Soft sided carry-on bags no larger than 17"x14"x4" with a zippered enclosure are recommended. Wheeled carry-on cases that are used as carry-on luggage on airlines are too large and are not suitable as hand-carried luggage. Baggage fees are not included in the price of the trip. Baggage fees and other charges will be directly assessed by the airlines or airport.
Travel Assistance:
For personal comfort, group participants who need assistance are required to have a traveling companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing the needed assistance.
