Itinerary

Sunday, April 13: Arrive in Phoenix

Transfer by motorcoach to a local airport for a flight to Phoenix, AZ. Upon arrival at the Phoenix Airport, meet your Southwest Adventure Tours Tour Director and travel north through the Sonoran Desert on your way to  Montezuma Castle National Monument  for touring of the ancient ruins. Then arrive in the beautiful town of Sedona with some free time to explore the many wonderful shops and art galleries on your own. This evening, join the group for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Hotel: Element Sedona (Dinner)

Monday, April 14: Grand Canyon National Park

This morning, start the day with an exciting Jeep Tour and experience the beauty of Sedona's colorful landscape in the morning sun. Depart Sedona and take a scenic drive through Oak Creek Canyon as you travel north to Flagstaff and then on to  Grand Canyon National Park  for sightseeing and lunch on own. Enjoy amazing vistas as you explore the most famous viewpoints and Grand Canyon Village. In the late afternoon, check into your hotel with the evening free to explore, enjoy the sunset and have dinner on own. Hotel: Yavapai Lodge (Breakfast)

Tuesday, April 15: Grand Canyon - Antelope Canyon - Kanab

In the afternoon, travel along the South Rim of the Grand Canyon toward Desert View and the Desert Watchtower. Exit the park and enter the Navajo Nation and arrive at historic  Cameron Trading Post  and the opportunity to see traditional Navajo workmanship and craftsmanship. Continue north past the Vermillion Cliffs on your way to Page and join the group for an included lunch. This afternoon you'll tour the mesmerizing undulations of Antelope Canyon with a local Navajo as your guide. Board 4X4 vehicles for a short drive to the canyon. Once we arrive at the canyon, you will be guided through the iconic sandstone walls, shaped by years and years of water and wind. Your tour guide will show you places through the canyon to take memorable photos, tell you about the canyon, and some local Navajo history. In the late afternoon, travel to the small town of  Kanab, also known as "Little Hollywood," and check in for the night. The rest of the evening is on your own to explore and to enjoy one of the local restaurants. Hotel: Hampton Inn Kanab (Breakfast, Lunch)

Wednesday, April 16: Zion National Park

Depart Kanab and enter Utah's oldest and most famous national park,  Zion National Park. Experience massive 2,000-foot high formations and towers, Zion Canyon and the Virgin River. Zion Canyon is a lush green canyon with the Virgin River flowing against a backdrop of huge red rock cliffs. It is no wonder the local Paiute Indians believed it was a place that the spirits dwelt and would not enter after dark. Lunch will be included today and there will be plenty of time to explore the park. Later in the afternoon, return to Kanab for for the night. Evening free on own. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Thursday, April 17: Bryce Canyon National Park - Salt Lake City

Depart Kanab and travel north to  Bryce Canyon National Park  for sightseeing. The vibrant colors and unearthly shapes of Bryce Canyon spark the imagination of both the young and old. The Paiute Indians described the canyon as "red rocks standing like men in a bowl-shaped canyon." Pioneer and settler Ebenezer Bryce, for whom the canyon was named, described it as "a hell of a place to lose a cow." After visiting the most scenic viewpoints, stop for lunch (not an included meal). Then continue northward to Salt Lake City with a rest stop along the way. Enjoy a short driving tour of this premier western city before checking into your hotel. This evening, join the group for a farewell dinner at a local restaurant and relive your southwest national parks experience. Hotel: Sheraton Salt Lake City Hotel (Breakfast, Dinner)

Friday, April 18: Return Home to Central, PA

After breakfast, transfer to the Salt Lake Airport for your flight and transportation back to Central, PA. (Breakfast )
