Welcome to the Bronx Zoo, the world’s largest urban Zoo in America. The day will be on your own to explore 265 acres at your own pace. Meet exotic animals, birds, reptiles, and insects from across Asia, Africa, the Americas and more. The animals and exhibits at the Bronx Zoo span the globe and include tiny toads from Tanzania and big cats from the Russian Far East. With more than 700 animal species, the zoo is the perfect place to inspire animal lovers of all ages. Stroll along at your leisure, and enjoy lunch at one of the food stands or cafés. Take a ride on the monorail that takes you to the heart of Asian wilderness where you may see red pandas, elephants, and rhinos. 

The Bronx Zoo is part of an effort to save wildlife that began 120 years ago with the creation of the New York Zoological Society, an organization founded on science and hope which has grown to become the Wildlife Conservation Society. Scientists at the Bronx Zoo, and the Wildlife Conservation Society are working to protect the future of all species and the places they call home.

5:00PM: Approximate departure time for Central Pennsylvania with a fast food stop en route.

9:00PM: Approximate arrival time back in Harrisburg.

10:00PM: Approximate arrival time back in Lancaster.

This tour includes moderate physical activity. The itinerary blends some longer days with shorter days and more leisure time. Walking tours, as well as walking slightly longer distances, up stairs, or on uneven walking surfaces, should be expected.

Payment

Full payment per person is due to AAA with this registration to confirm your reservation.  

Cancellation/Penalties

After April 1, 2024: No refunds.

Insurance

For your protection AAA recommends travel insurance. Pre-existing medical conditions may be waived with proper coverage if travel insurance is purchased within 14 days of initial deposit only. Other conditions may apply; ask your travel agent. AAA recommends Allianz.

Clothing/Climate

Temperatures for New York in June average in the 70s. Casual clothes and comfortable walking shoes are recommended; be prepared for potential inclement weather.

Travel Assistance

For personal comfort, group participants who need assistance are required to have a traveling companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing the needed assistance.
