AAA Central Penn Branch Initiatives

Branch Community Initiatives

In addition to our corporate initiatives, such as the AAA Cares Backpack Program, Caitlin's Smiles Coping Kits, and collection drives benefiting local animal shelters, AAA Central Penn branches are empowered and encouraged to also coordinate their own local community initiatives. Each AAA branch is premitted to close so staff may volunteer as a group at their nonprofit of choice during regular business hours.

AAA Camp Hill

In October 2024, AAA Camp Hill will close for a day in support of New Hope Ministries where they will box food. Check back for more details.

AAA Carlisle

December 2023, the AAA Carlisle collected personal care items to be given to the homeless in support of Safe Harbour.

On Friday, March 29, 2024, AAA Carlisle will close for the day in support of the Central PA Food Bank from 9am to 3pm. To join the AAA Cares Team, contach the branch manager, Audrey Roy at aroy@aaacp.com.

AAA Carlisle also serves as a year-round donation drop-off site for Speranza Animal Rescue. Click HERE to view a list of needed items.

AAA Gettysburg

December 2023, AAA Gettysburg filled a Holiday Wishlists for 3 local families in need in support through South Central Community Action Programs.

On Saturday, December 14, 2024, AAA Gettysburg will close for the day in Support of Wreaths Across America. They will host a AAA Cares team laying wreaths at Oak Lawn Cemetery. To join the AAA Cares team, contact branch manager, Sandra Pototsky at spotosky@aaacp.com.

AAA Harrisburg

December 2023, AAA Harrisburg collected items in support of Dress for Success.

On Wednesday, August 7, 2024, AAA Harrisburg will close at noon in support of the Central PA Food Bank from 1pm to 4pm. To join the AAA Cares team, contact branch manager, Beckie Zettlemoyer-Shank at rshank@aaacp.com.

AAA Hershey

December 2023, AAA Hershey collected items needed for Cocoa Kitties.

In May 2024, AAA Hershey will close for a day in support of Cocoa Packs. Please check back for the date and time.

AAA Huntingdon & AAA Lewistown

December 2023, AAA Huntingdon and AAA Lewistown collected items for Homeless Baskets in support of Center for Community Action.

On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, AAA Huntingdon and AAA Lewistown will close for the day in support of the United Way of Mifflin-Juniata Day of Caring.

AAA Lancaster

Friday, June 7,2024, AAA Lancaster will close early in support of Water Street Mission and their group supporting local teenageers, Teen Haven. Please check back for details.

AAA Lebanon

December 2023, AAA Lebanon collected items for homeless students in support of Communities in Schools of PA.

Tuesday, April 9, 2024, AAA Lebanon will close for the day in support of Lebanon Christian Ministries where they will take over the kitchen to make and serve a hot meal to local residents in need.

On Saturday, December 14, 2024, AAA Lebanon staff will host a AAA Cares team at Wreaths Across America. They will help to lay wreaths at Fort Indiantown Gap. To join the AAA Cares team, contact assistant branch manager, Shelley Derr at sderr@aaacp.com.

AAA Lititz

December 2023, AAA Lititz collectied materials in need for the Open Door Clothing Bank.

On Saturday, December 14, 2024, AAA Litiz will close for the day in Support of Wreaths Across America. They will host a AAA Cares team laying wreaths at Fairview Cemetery in Denver, PA. To join the AAA Cares team, contact branch manager, Cassie Allia at callia@aaacp.com.
